Kingstonian Preview – Can Kingstonian bounce back on home soil?

Kingstonian were handed a 1-0 defeat away from home at Hastings United last time out in the Isthmian League Premier which not only resulted with the hosts dropping down to 15th place in the league table but it also put an end to their promising unbeaten start to this new season which consisted of four draws and a win.

Points picked up in stalemates with Margate, Wingate & Finchley, Enfield Town and Herne Bay were boosted by a 2-1 home win against Carshalton Athletic and although Kingstonian have managed to register just three wins out of their last 14 matches overall, the hosts have also lost just three games as well.

Two of these three defeats were inflicted upon Kingstonian away from home, while their one defeat at home during this period was a 2-0 loss to Bishop’s Stortford, which has been their only loss at home in their last eight matches.

Again, the draw has featured prominently in Kingstonian’s last eight home games, being involved in no fewer than five stalemates within this period but the hosts have also captured two victories during this time, one of which was a 1-0 home win against Bognor Regis.

Bognor Regis Preview – Can Bognor end recent slump?

Wednesday’s visitors, Bognor Regis, also dropped down the Isthmian League Premier table to 13th spot following a 3-3 draw at home with Carshalton Athletic which was followed by an early exit from this season’s FA Cup qualifying rounds, losing 2-0 at home to Hampton & Richmond.

Overall, Bognor have managed to pick up just one win out of their last six matches in all competitions which came in the form of a resounding 4-0 win away from home at fellow Isthmian counterparts, Cray Wanderers, in the previous round of the FA Cup qualifiers, but this sequence also includes three defeats as well.

Losses to Potters Bar Town, Horsham and Hampton & Richmond aren’t the ideal preparation for this midweek trip to take on Kingstonian, and the visitors have produced a mixed bag of results on the road so far this season in the league as well.

A 2-2 draw at Cray Wanderers was followed up with a 6-1 thrashing of the current league leaders, Aveley, but Bognor Regis failed to keep the early momentum going on their travels as they suffered a heavy defeat themselves in the following outing, with a 4-0 defeat at Horsham.

The bigger picture shows Bognor Regis have registered just three wins though in their last 13 outings on the road with victories gained at Carshalton Athletic, Merstham and Aveley but they’ve also been handed six defeats along with failing to score in six of these 13 away games too.
