Lens Preview – Can Lens compete against PSG?
Newly-promoted Lens were handed a 2-1 defeat in their opening match of the new season upon their return to the French top flight away at Nice and although they return to the more familiar surroundings of their Stade Bollaert-Delelis for this upcoming clash against PSG, they look to have their work cut out.
Lens were perhaps fortunate to be handed promotion in last season’s Ligue 2 campaign as the season was cut short due to the lockdown with 2nd placed Lens just one point ahead of 3rd placed Ajaccio, but a line was drawn under the season and Lens returned to the top flight for the first time in five years.

Thomas Tuchel’s side were most impressive away from home last term, finishing the domestic top flight season with an away record of 10-1-2 31/13 and they ended the campaign winning six of their final seven matches on their travels, and with the forward trio of Neymar, Mbappe and Icardi at his disposal, Tuchel’s troops should be a formidable unit here.
