These wins will have come as huge relief for Western United manager, Mark Rudan, who had previously witnessed his side fail to win any of their preceding four matches in the Australian top flight, having lost three of these last four with defeats against Adelaide United 4-3, Brisbane Roar 1-0 and a 2-0 loss against Wellington Phoenix.
Western United know that they can put pressure on the top six with a win over Melbourne Victory this Saturday though, and their case is strengthened by the fact that they’ve beaten Victory in the previous two encounters with 3-1 and 3-2 wins respectively
