The new Mexican Liga MX season is only three matches old but already, Tuesday’s hosts, Necaxa, appear to be struggling as they’ve lost two of their opening three matches of the new campaign which has left them second from bottom on the Apertura ladder.
Defeats against Tigres UANL and Juarez saw Necaxa start the season in the worst possible fashion but they at least picked up a point in a 1-1 draw at home with Club America last time out, and they hold home advantage again for this upcoming clash against Mazatlan.

Mazatlan Preview – Can Mazatlan extend unbeaten run?
Tuesday evening’s visitors, Mazatlan, were handed a heavy 4-1 defeat at home to Puebla on the opening day of the Mexican Liga MX season but they’ve since recovered by picking up a point on the road in a 1-1 draw at Queretaro and a 2-1 home win over Toluca.
As a result, Mazatlan reside in the relative comfort of a mid-table position on the Apertura ladder and they’ll no doubt be keen to continue their unbeaten run in the Mexican top flight with a result at the Estadio Victoria de Aguascalientes, although recent results away from home may suggest otherwise.
Back-to-back losses on the road in the Copa por Mexico at Atlas and Guadalajara along with the draw at Queretaro perhaps suggest that the best that Mazatlan can hope for in this clash at Necaxa is a point.
