Onto Denmark next, and a look at how the Superliga is shaping up, as well as a look at Monday night’s fixture between Nordsjaelland and lowly Helsingor at the Right to Dream Park.
Nordsjaelland head into tonight’s clash still at the top of the Danish top flight despite suffering a highly entertaining 4-3 defeat at Midtjylland last time out, but they’ll return to the familiar surroundings on Monday night with confidence that they can bounce back against a weaker Helsingor outfit this evening.
Prior to last week’s loss, Mordsjaelland had racked up four wins on the trot to get their new campaign off to a flying start with wins over OB, Brondby, AaB and Lyngby, and they’ll fancy their chances of returning to winning ways in their own backyard here. Forwards Asante (5 goals) and Donyoh (4 goals) are the attacking threats for the hosts.
Visitors Helsingor currently sit fourth from bottom in the Danish Superliga, but it’s still early days, and all three points here this evening would lift them up into a top half position. However, Helsingor have masde an inconsistent start to he new season as they’ve registered wins over SonderjyskE and Midtjylland, but have also lost on three occasions as well.
Defeats to Hobro, OB Odense and Silkeborg have resulted in them sitting in the lower reaches of the division, and having lost two of their three away matches so far, it seems likely that they’ll struggle against a previously in-form Nordsjaelland outfit here tonight.
This is Helsingor’s first season in the domestic top flight, and tonight will be their biggest test yet at this level to see how they can cope against one of the best sides in the division.
