Second placed Notts County will be keen to keep their recent momentum going when they play host to Colchester at Meadow Lane on Saturday afternoon in League Two with the home side still yet to taste defeat on home turf.
Notts County have put together an encouraging run of five matches without defeat in recent weeks which includes wins over Newport County and Cheltenham Town at home, along with points earned on the road at Carlisle United, Stevenage and Yeovil Town.
In addition, The Magpies’ home record stands at a very solid looking 7-2-0 20/6 and manager Kevin Nolan will be pleased with his side’s four clean sheets to date as well as winning six of their last seven at home. Look out for leading goalscorer Grant (11 goals) who’s on loan from neighbours, Nottingham Forest.
Visitors Colchester United also bring an encouraging sequence of results to Meadow Lane this afternoon on the back of six matches without defeat which include wins over Newport County, Crewe Alexandra, Barnet and Lincoln City.
With four clean sheets from these last six matches, United will be keen to register another shut-out against one of the best teams in League Two this season, and this has also helped improve their away record to a more respectable looking 3-2-4 8/13.
However, only one of their three wins on the road so far this season have been against a team in the top half of the division (Newport County), so they’ll face a tough test against Notts County today I fancy.
