Friday night brings us action from League Two with Notts County playing host to Yeovil Town with further betting tips available at Meadow Lane where the hosts will search to record their first league win of the season.
After making it to the play-offs at the end of last season where they were ultimately bundled out by eventual winners, Coventry City, Notts County have made a slow start to this new League Two campaign having drawn 0-0 at home with Colchester United and then suffered a 3-2 loss away at Cambridge United last weekend.
On a positive note, Meadow Lane was a veritable fortress as County lost just twice on home turf throughout the whole campaign.
The Magpies (and manager Kevin Nolan) will be desperate for a win here though as they’ve now gone six league matches without a win, and the pressure will start building if they don’t get a win here tonight. Forwards, Alessandra, Dennis, Hemmings and Stead are all capable of finding the back of the net.
Onto Yeovil Town, and they flirted with relegation towards the end of last season in the fourth tier as The Glovers finished just two points ahead of relegated Barnet, and they face another long, hard battle in the bottom half of the division this season too.
Yeovil have also started this new season in slow fashion as they lost 1-0 on opening day away at Bury but then held Mansfield Town to a 2-2 draw at Huish Park last weekend. Like Notts County, they too have gained just one point from their opening two matches of the new term.
However, it’s now 10 league matches without a win for Yeovil and there’s already increasing pressure on manager Darren Way to get results.
Incidentally, Yeovil were hammered 4-1 when they last visited Meadow Lane and my betting tips suggest this could be another home win here this evening.
