Partick Thistle Prediction – Can Partick Thistle win first home match?

Following last weekend’s 1-1 draw away at Alloa Athletic, Partick Thistle occupy a mid-table position in the Scottish Championship.

This was pretty much where Partick Thistle ended up at the end of last season’s Championship campaign and they’ll be looking for an improvement at home this term.

The hosts posted an inconsistent looking home record of 7-3-8 25/27 by the end of last season, with their last 5 matches providing a snapshot of their season on home soil.

Wins over Dundee United and Alloa Athletic were tempered by defeats to Inverness CT and Ayr United, while also drawing 2-2 with Dunfermline.

Although Partick Thistle lost just 1 of their last 8 matches of last season, they’ll no doubt be looking to make themselves harder to beat at home this term.

However, given Partick’s inconsistent nature as well as it being early days, the goals market may be the best option here.

In last season’s Championship campaign at their Energy Check Stadium, 13 of Partick Thistle’s 18 matches resulted in both teams scoring.

This certainly fits the inconsistency that Partick Thistle demonstrated throughout last season.

Dundee United Prediction – Can Dundee United win back-to-back?

Despite failing to reach the 2nd round of the Scottish League Cup, Dundee United registered an emphatic opening day win in last weekend’s Championship.

A resounding 4-1 home win against Inverness CT last Saturday was the perfect start to their league campaign under manager, Robbie Neilson.

Earlier, Dundee United had failed to make it out of Group A in the League Cup which consisted of Hearts, East Fife, Stenhousemuir and Cowdenbeath.

A 3rd place finish and 1 point behind East Fife meant that Dundee United crashed out of the competition.

That said, Dundee United’s major focus this season was always going to be automatic promotion back up to the Premiership.

Last season’s 2nd place finish in the Scottish second tier saw Dundee United through to the promotion play-offs where they met Premiership side, St Mirren.

After two legs the scores were still level but St Mirren broke Dundee hearts when they won the penalty shoot-out.

Dundee United finished last season with a pretty reasonable away record of 8-5-5 20/15 which included just 2 defeats from their last 7 matches.

Betting Tips Verdict

It’s early days still, but both teams should hit the back of the net here.
