Peterborough United return to London Road for this Saturday’s League One clash with Blackpool on the back of a point in a 2-2 draw away at AFC Wimbledon last weekend, and all three points here today could lift them up into the play-off pack.
Last time out on home turf, Peterborough registered an impressive 1-0 win over current League One leaders, Shrewsbury Town, achieving what many clubs have so far failed to do, and that was to inflict the first league defeat of the season upon The Shrews.
The Posh will no doubt be looking for more of the same against Blackpool on Saturday, and with five wins from their eight matches at home so far, along with goalscoring forwards Marriott (10 goals), Maddison (5 goals) and Morais (4 goals), the hosts look in good shape.
Visitors Blackpool head down to Peterborough on the back of three league defeats on the trot with losses to Wigan Athletic, Northampton Town and Portsmouth, so Gary Bowyer’s men will no doubt be keen to put an end to this disappointing run of results here.
However, this may be easier said than done as The Seasiders have claimed just the one win so far on their travels in League One, which was a 3-1 win at second from bottom club, Plymouth Argyle, and they’ve since lost three of their next four on the road.
Blackpool hold an away record of 1-3-4 10/13 and have recently lost at Bristol Rovers, Southend United and Northampton Town, with a point at Walsall in a 1-1 draw giving them just one point from their last four away from home.
I’ll back Peterborough here, but I recommend the draw no bet option.
