It’s a top of the table clash between Rochdale and Peterborough United in betting tips for League One this Saturday afternoon with fifth placed Rochdale looking to make it back-to-back wins.
Rochdale started their new League One campaign off in positive fashion with a 2-1 win away at Burton Albion who are looking to bounce straight back to the Championship this term. However, Dale had other ideas, and they recorded a seventh straight win in all competitions to hand Keith Hill’s side a good start to the new season.
Rochdale now return to their Crown Oil Arena for this Saturday’s encounter with Peterborough United, and having gone unbeaten in their last four on home turf, a record which extends back into last season, the hosts will be cautiously optimistic of getting something here today.
Forwards, Henderson and Abraham are the danger men up front for Dale.
Onto Peterborough United, and they too grabbed all three points in last weekend’s season opener at home to Bristol Rovers which would have been a timely boost for manager Steve Evans who is expected to guide The Posh to at least a play-off place this term.
But while Peterborough are very capable of racking up wins at their London Road ground, results away from home have been far less dependable as their away record of last season indicated, finishing up on a disappointing 5-9-9 31/34.
The visitors ended last season’s League One run-in with four straight defeats on the road with losses at Plymouth Argyle, Blackburn Rovers, Shrewsbury Town and Portsmouth, so they’ll be keen to set the record straight here.
However, six matches without a win for Peterborough on their travels suggests betting tips to back the hosts here with the handicap.
