Santos Preview – Can Santos grab first home win?
Santos will be keen to return to their home ground of the Estádio Urbano Caldeira following back-to-back away matches at the start of this new domestic Brazilian season as they suffered a 3-0 defeat away at Bahia on the opening day of the Serie A season.
However, Santos’s spirits were boosted by a midweek Copa do Brasil 2-0 win away at Cianorte which will give the hosts a timely boost ahead of their opening home game of the season against Saturday’s visitors, Ceara.

Ceara hit the road again on Saturday evening where they’ll ravel to face Santos whom they’ve never beaten at the Estádio Urbano Caldeira, but having suffered just one defeat out of their last nine games on their travels, Ceara may fancy their chances here.
However, just six wins from their last 16 away matches suggest Ceara may find this upcoming clash tough going against a Santos side who have been hard to beat in previous exchanges.
