Defeats either side of the end of last season and this season’s opener have seen Rubin Kazan handed defeats by Spartak Moscow and Lokomotiv Moscow respectively and although they’d earlier posted back-to-back wins against Orenburg and Krasnodar, these were both on home turf at their Kazan’ Arena.
