Perth Glory Preview – Can Perth avoid a third defeat on the trot?
A second defeat on the trot in last weekend’s edition of the A-League saw Perth Glory handed a 3-2 loss at home to Melbourne City which followed on from a previous loss with a 2-1 defeat away from home at Newcastle Jets.
These two defeats in quick succession has resulted in The Glory dropping down to 5th place in the A-League standings, but although they still occupy a place in the Finals play-off pack, the visitors are just three points ahead of 7th placed Adelaide United with a tough trip across Australia to Sydney this Saturday.
Perth’s away record stands at a reasonable looking 4-4-2 13/7 but the visitors are without a win on the road from their last three matches after being held to 0-0 and 1-1 draws at Melbourne City and Brisbane Roar, while also suffering that defeat at Newcastle Jets.
