Groningen sit in 8th place in the Dutch Eredivisie but are just four points adrift of 7th placed Heracles who occupy the last remaining Europa League play-off spot, ahead of their trip to face Utrecht this Friday night.
Groningen will be in confident mood though ahead of this clash as they’ve put together a decent set of results in recent weeks with a five match sequence without defeat which includes four wins from their last five matches overall in the Dutch top flight.
