Mark Robinson’s Wimbledon and Mark Bonner’s Cambridge United go head-to-head at Plough Lane in EFL League One action on Saturday. The Dons are embroiled in a relegation scrap, sitting in 21st position with a mere 33 points to their name. As for the Yellows, they are 12 points above in 17th. Wimbledon will be desperate for the points on home soil, and the hosts are the slight favourites at 13/10. Read on for the latest odds and top tips in our in-depth preview.

Wimbledon Preview – Dons’ winless run to go on?

Mark Robinson’s Wimbledon are having a tough time in League One at present. After just six wins from 38 matches, the Dons are well and truly in a scrap for survival. They have drawn 15 and lost 17 of the other 21.

Robinson’s side are in desperate need of a positive result after suffering four successive league defeats. Incredibly, Wimbledon have not won a League One game since a 2-0 victory at Accrington Stanley way back on 7th December.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score
4/5

The Dons have drawn nine and lost ten of their last 19 League One matches, and their winless run could stretch to 20 at the weekend. However, despite their terrible form, Wimbledon are the favourites at 13/10.

Cambridge United Preview – Can the U’s avoid a third straight defeat?

Although Cambridge United’s form is nowhere near as bad as Wimbledon’s, the U’s could also do with the points after no wins in five. United have taken just one point from a possible 15 since back-to-back wins over Accrington Stanley and Plymouth Argyle in February.

Cambridge have failed to score in their last four, shipping ten goals at the other end. A couple of weeks back, the Yellow were hammered 6-0 by Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough, which they followed up with a 1-0 home reverse to MK Dons last weekend.

Mark Bonner’s boys have struggled away from home this season, winning just four times on their travels in League One. The last of those victories was a 1-0 success at Lincoln City over two months back. Can they put things right with three points in the capital on Saturday?

Wimbledon vs Cambridge United Betting Advice

Back in October, Cambridge picked up a 1-0 win when the teams clashed at Abbey Stadium. It was a tight affair, with Jensen Weir’s goal just after half time proving to be the only difference between the two sides.

When the teams last met at Plough Lane, Cambridge ran out 2-1 winners in August 2015. The reverse meeting that season ended in a 4-1 away win for the Dons.

Key Facts – Wimbledon vs Cambridge United Betting Tip

  • Wimbledon have not won in the league since early December
  • Cambridge have taken just one point from their last five
  • United edged the meeting in Cambridge in October

With both teams in poor form, do not expect this one to be a classic. It is likely to be a scrappy affair with not too much goalmouth action. With that in mind, our money is going on the draw and under 2.5 goals at 3/1.

Jack Rudoni has netted nine League One goals for the Dons this season, including one in last weekend’s 3-1 defeat at Cheltenham Town. The 20-year-old is available at 11/2 to score the opening goal of this game, too.
