On Friday Blackpool, who are positioned 11th in the division took so much backing for relegation after the flurry of rumours, that they had been dragged into as short of a price of 5/1 from 66/1 across the board.

It was been a massive betting frenzy predicting doom and gloom for the Seasiders.

As seen in their recent home FA Cup tie against Arsenal in the third round, a lot of Blackpool supporters stay away from the home games in protest at the way the club is being run by owner Owen Oyston. Once against Blackpool potentially find themselves in turmoil and crisis.

The issues here is the penalty of having points taken away from them if they do go into administration. If it happens they will easily tumble all the way down the table and into the relegation zone. Punters have been recognising that and that is why the Tangerines have taken an unprecedented high volume of relegation bets on them.

At the time of writing, Blackpool were sat at 9/2 odds to suffer the drop* (betting odds taken from bet365 on January 11th, 2019 at 5:42 pm)

Blackpool pulled themselves clear of issues twelve months ago to land a 12th place finish in the division. They can currently be backed to do the same at 8/15 odds to secure a top half of the table finish in League One* (betting odds taken from bet365 on January 11th, 2019 at 5:42 pm).
