Cameroon News and Form

Cameroon opened with a 2-0 success over Guinea-Bissau at AFCON 2019. The Indomitable Lions rattled off a quick brace in the second half within a four-minute spell to kill off the game. During their qualification process to get to the Finals, they finished level on points with Morocco but lost out to them on the head to head and had to settle for second. Still, they were comfortably through.

Ghana to win to nil

Cameroon have taken three wins in their last four games now (D1) so are hitting a bit of form at the right time. They had posted only one win in their five previous games. In each of their last three wins, Cameroon have scored at least two goals as well. They would probably be fairly happy in taking a point out of this one to keep Ghana at arm’s length.

Ghana News and Form

Ghana failed to deliver a win in their opening group stage match, something that they had been expected to do. They played out a 2-2 draw with Benin after failing to build on a 2-1 half time lead that they had gotten from themselves. Ayew brothers Andre and Jordan got their goals. This isn’t a game that they would want to be losing as that would put pressure on them in terms of automatic qualification for the next round. Ghana are W3 D2 L1 in their last six games and they have taken three clean sheets in that sequence. They averaged two goals per game in their four qualification matches to reach the Finals, conceding just the one. Can they give Cameroon a run for their money?

Cameroon v Ghana Predictions

Draw: The draw in the match outright looks a solid proposition. Neither are going to want to drop points and both would be fairly happy with a share of the spoils. Cameroon would likely still be top leaving Ghana to take their chances against the weakest group opponents Guinea-Bissau in their final match. Draw.
