Cameroon opened with a 2-0 success over Guinea-Bissau at AFCON 2019. The Indomitable Lions rattled off a quick brace in the second half within a four-minute spell to kill off the game. During their qualification process to get to the Finals, they finished level on points with Morocco but lost out to them on the head to head and had to settle for second. Still, they were comfortably through.

Ghana failed to deliver a win in their opening group stage match, something that they had been expected to do. They played out a 2-2 draw with Benin after failing to build on a 2-1 half time lead that they had gotten from themselves. Ayew brothers Andre and Jordan got their goals. This isn’t a game that they would want to be losing as that would put pressure on them in terms of automatic qualification for the next round.
