Do Chelsea have £70 million to shell out on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang? Reports are that Borussia Dortmund are prepared to sell him off to the Premier League Champions but the Blues will have to pay a fair penny for him. This has come about because the player himself has allegedly told the club that he wants a move away from the Bundesliga giants.
PSG were in the market for the Gabon international but they have since pulled out interest, so the player will be looking for another club. The Blues had launched off a matching deal to Manchester United’s successful offer to Everton for Romelu Lukaku, so after missing out there, they could be looking for alternative sources to provide the goals up front for them in a busier season than last, because of Champions League duties.
There have been rumours that they are going for Alvaro Morata, but Aubameyang, who netted 31 goals in the German top flight last season is something that Chelsea fans would get excited about. That goal haul was from 32 games. With Dortmund apparently keen enough to let the 28 year old go for the right price, he looks as if Aubameyang will be departing. Chelsea could of course just keep their money in their pockets and make peace with Diego Costa who still seems to be sticking around with little market interest in him.
But for now, the odds on Aubameyang going to Chelsea in the summer have fallen from 33/1 down to 7/2 with Coral.
