DC United News and Form – Will the Black-and-Red hit back?
DC United currently occupy fourth spot in the Eastern Conference. Olsen’s men have picked up ten wins from 27 games, drawing nine and losing eight of the other 17. The Black-and Red are six points adrift of joint leaders Atlanta United and Philadelphia Union.
United have been in poor form of late, as DC have won just one of their last five in MLS, losing three times along the way. In fact, the Washington franchise have lost half of their last eight league games, claiming only two wins during that poor run.
After battling to a 2-1 win over LA Galaxy at Audi Field, DC United fell to a disappointing defeat to the Whitecaps at BC Place last time out. It was a close matchup in Vancouver, with Yordy Reyna’s early goal winning it for the hosts.
DC have been hard to beat on their own patch over the last few months. Since losing to New York City back in April, United have lost only one of their last nine MLS home fixtures. After being thumped by Philadelphia (5-1) earlier in the month, Olsen’s troops hit back with a 2-1 win over the Galaxy in their home match.
DC United have been in patchy form to say the least in recent months. However, they are pretty strong at home and the Washington-based club will back themselves to pick up all three points from this one.

Last weekend, New York were held to a 1-1 draw by the Revolution. The Red Bulls failed to build on Marc Rzatkowski’s 18th-minute goal, with Gustavo Bou levelling for New England 20 minutes into the second half.
New York Red Bulls have really struggled on their travels recently. Since securing successive away wins at Philadelphia and Houston Dynamo, Armas’ team have lost four of their following six MLS fixtures on the road.
