Is this going to be as straightforward for him as the odds suggest? The St Leger is run over a distance of over 1m 6f.

We look at the chances of Hurricane Lane as well as the other key players in the St Leger Stakes.

Hurricane Lane odds-on FAV in St Leger Stakes Racing Odds

The 4/5 quote on HURRICANE LANE in St Leger Stakes horse racing odds says everything about this challenger* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on September 10th, 2021 at Coral).

Charlie Appleby’s colt is sitting on a hat-trick chance. He made it 5 wins in 6 last time out as he romped to a wide-margin victory at Longchamp.

That was a score in the Grand Prix de Paris by six lengths, adding to the Irish Derby success at the Curragh.

The only loss that Hurricane Lane has suffered was in the Derby.

There doesn’t look any question about his ability to stay the distance here. This Group 1 winner is probably going to take some beating on Saturday.

Can Mojo Star find enough to beat Hurricane Lane?

The form of MOJO STAR should put him in this.

He is a quote of 6/1 to win the St Leger* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on September 10th, 2021 at Coral).

Earlier this season he finished ahead of Hurricane Lane at the Derby. But then he found himself being that rival at the Curragh in the Irish derby.

But the run of Mojo Star was badly hampered in that one, so wasn’t a true result. Richard Hannon’s colt broke his maiden at Newbury last time out.

That scored a month ago, and with a clear run and he warrants some big respect for this one. Place claims are definitely there.

Ottoman Emperor can make a play for the places

After a win in the Gordon Stakes putting a huge positive in his form column, OTTOMAN EMPEROR could be set for a good run.

There was an indifferent debut, but he has kicked on since then. He has just been going from strength to strength since then.

Ottoman Emperor completed a four-timer last time out when he stayed on well to score at Goodwood by half a length.

The re-opposing Sir Lucan was behind him in that one.

He doesn’t look as if he’s reached the top of his game, and there is a hint that he needs to find more at this top level.

Ottoman Emperor is a quote of 7/1 to land the win in St Leger betting* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on September 10th, 2021 at Coral).

Interpretation has more to come

With a hattrick completion for Aidan O’Brien, INTERPRETATION is a very interesting one to look at in St Leger horse racing odds.

The hat-trick was completed a month ago as he made all in a Leopardstown Listed fixture. That positive 3-3 record this summer piques interest.

There is a 10/1 on Interpretation getting the win on Saturday* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on September 10th, 2021 at Coral).

He is heading in the right direction and still looks to have plenty of progress to come. But this is a much tougher assignment for him.

Finding enough to come that far forward to take the win in this is debatable. But place claims look reasonable enough as he is in good heart.

Can Sir Lucan find more?

SIR LUCAN is a promising sort and one of a handful of entries for Aidan O’Brien in the St Leger.

There was a Listed victory for him at Navan earlier this season. He has taken his form forward since then in defeat.

Sir Lucan battled his way into the farm at both the Gordon Stakes and the Great Voltigeur.

So he has been knocking around in good form and connections will be hoping for further improvement still as he is tested on a longer trip.

Sir Lucan is a quote of 16/1* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on September 10th, 2021 at Coral).

The Rest Of The Runners

HIGH DEFINITION has a very good juvenile career. But there has not been any progress made this season.

He was hugely disappointing in the Great Voltigeur on his latest, so probably has a lot to find despite being supplemented for this.

SCOPE hasn’t picked up a win in any of his three efforts this season. The longer trip that is on offer looks as if it could help. Others are far more appealing however in St Leger betting.

THE MEDITERRANEAN earned a win on his appearance this season. He went close in the Great Voltigeur three weeks ago, finishing as runner up.

He has enough to get in the fight for the places in this one and there could be more to come still with a longer trip.

YOUTH SPIRIT won the Chester Vase earlier this season. He arrives after good runs in the Gordon Stakes and the Voltigeur Stakes.

The extra test of stamina is likely to help his chances here and Youth Spirit is no forlorn hope for a place finish.

Predictions & Tips for St Leger Stakes Racing Odds

This is such a good contest and there are a lot of horses that know each other pretty well going back up against each other.

HURRICANE LANE despite sitting at 4/5 odds-on for St Leger odds is just too hard to pass up* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on September 10th, 2021 at Coral).

It’s not great odds but he is bang in form and the Group 1 winner sets the standard of quality on Saturday. His Grand Prix de Paris performance was stunning.

MOJO STAR is not without a chance in this one. Sadly he was badly hammered at the Curragh when taking on Hurricane Lane in the Irish Derby.

It would have been interesting to see how close he could have stuck to the winner in that one if it had been a clear run.

The other that we put on the shortlist is THE MEDITERRANEAN who is a very lively outsider.

He was fourth in France behind Hurricane Lane last time out and could throw his name into the hat at Doncaster.
