EFL Championship Matchday 46: Best Betting Football Tips

Cardiff City vs. Rotherham United: EFL Betting Tip

Mick McCarthy’s Cardiff City welcome Paul Warne’s Rotherham United to the Cardiff City Stadium on the final weekend of the Championship season. The Millers need to win in Wales to stand any chance of pulling off a last-gasp great escape.

Cardiff have been incredibly solid since Big Mick arrived back in January, with only Watford, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday getting the better of them. City are unbeaten in five, following up three draws with wins over Wycombe Wanderers and Birmingham City in their last two.

Our betting prediction:
Kieffer Moore to score first
4/1

(odds taken 0812 GMT, Thursday 7 May)

Rotherham are in real danger of dropping back down to EFL League One after one season in the Championship. If they fail to beat Cardiff in the Welsh capital, United will be relegated no matter what happens elsewhere. However, three points and a Derby County draw or defeat will be enough.

Unfortunately for the Millers, we fancy in-form Cardiff to get the points on their own patch. Put some money on the Bluebirds to win to nil at 7/2.

Cardiff City 7/5
Draw 13/5
Rotherham United 37/20

Derby County vs. Sheffield Wednesday: Best Football League Betting Predictions

Wayne Rooney’s Derby County and Darren Moore’s Sheffield Wednesday meet in massive basement battle at Pride Park on Saturday. Derby will stay up with a win, but defeat will see the Rams drop into League One.

Rooney’s men have been in woeful form of late, losing six in a row since a 2-0 home victory over Luton Town on 2nd April. Derby only have themselves to blame for the precarious position that they find themselves in after just one win in 14.

Sheffield Wednesday need to do their job at Pride Park and hope for a favour from Cardiff. An Owls victory will be enough if Rotherham fail to win in the Cardiff City Stadium. However, the Sheffield club have lost eight of their previous nine away games.

Derby could survive by the skin of their teeth but are no doubt in for a nervy final day. Back this vital clash to end all square at Pride Park at 47/20.

Middlesbrough vs. Wycombe Wanderers: EFL Betting Odds & Predictions

Barring one of the most ridiculous weekends in football history, Wycombe will be relegated on Saturday. Nevertheless, Gareth Ainsworth’s troops have gained invaluable experience in the Championship this season. Can they end their campaign on a high?

Middlesbrough would have been aiming for the play-offs this season, but Neil Warnock has certainly steadied the ship since his arrival last term. No matter what, Boro will finish in the top half of the Championship table.

Wycombe’s one-year stay in the second tier will come to an end this weekend, but the Chairboys have had a real go in recent weeks. Ainsworth’s troops head to the Riverside Stadium having won four of their last seven.

Middlesbrough will want to an end a season of progression with three points on home soil. We are backing the hosts to edge an entertaining encounter. You can get 13/5 for the home win and both teams to score.

Middlesbrough 4/5
Draw 29/10
Wycombe Wanderers 33/10

Watford vs. Swansea City: Best EFL Championship Betting Tips on Matchday 46

On the of the most attractive fixtures on the final weekend is the Watford vs Swansea affair at Vicarage Road. The Hornets are already in next season’s Premier League, but can the Swans join them?

Xisco Munoz has done a superb job in Hertfordshire since arriving at the end of 2020, guiding Watford to second place. The Hornets have the best home record in the Championship, racking up an impressive 56 points.

Swansea are one of the best away teams in the Championship, winning 11, drawing five and losing six. Only champions Norwich and third-place Brentford have accumulated more away points than the Welsh outfit. However, City have won just two of their last five away from the Liberty Stadium.

Swansea came from behind to beat Watford 2-1 in the reverse game, inflicting a first defeat on Munoz. However, we are backing the tables to turn full circle this Saturday. The 2-1 Watford win is nicely priced at 15/2.

Watford 21/20
