Jordan Henderson favourite to be on cover of FIFA 2016

Women's game represented in new release

Who will be joining Lionel Messi on the cover of the upcoming FIFA 2016 release by EA Sports? Well, it won’t be a star from the women’s game, even though EA Sports have announced that for the first time, the women’s game will represented in their release. Twelve international women’s sides will be in the game as part of the growing attention that the women’s game deserves, especially with the high quality on show at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

But EA sports have missed the boat in not taking the bull by the horns and placing a woman on the cover. Instead they have left the voting of who will appear alongside Lionel Messi up to the public. Not always the wisest choice and it is Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson who is running at 8/11 favourite to win the four-man poll.

Fellow England international Harry Kane is a 5/2 quote, followed by Sergio Aguero at 7/2 (who has shortened in the market) with Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois the underdog at 20/1 to be elected for the cover shot.
