League Two Betting Odds – Champions

Exeter and Forest Green will be fighting it out on the final day to be crowned Champions of League Two.

They are both already promoted so it’s bragging rights in claiming that Champions title that is up for grabs.

Leaders Exeter, who hold a 1-point advantage over Forest Green have on paper, the easier match on Saturday.

They are home to Port Vale and are 6/5 favourites for the win* (odds recorded at 22:20 GMT on May 3rd, 2022 at Betfair).

Position Team Wins Draws Losses Points
1st Exeter 23 15 7 84
2nd Forest Green 23 14 8 83

Exeter have won their last five home fixtures and face a Port Vale side who are on a three-match losing streak.

Port Vale may need something out of the game however to lock down a playoff spot.

Forest Green meanwhile, face a road trip to Mansfield who need a point to ensure they go to the playoffs.

For so long Forest Green looked as if they were going to stroll to the title, but with one win in their last six matches (D2 L3), this is now a tough final fixture for them against a very good home team in Mansfield.

Forest Green are 21/10 underdogs to win the match in League Two betting* (odds recorded at 22:20 GMT on May 3rd, 2022 at Betfair).

League Two Betting Odds – Champions

League Two Relegation

There is nothing meaningful happening down at the bottom of the League One standings on the weekend.

Scunthorpe and Oldham have both been relegated out of the top four tiers for next season, Scunthorpe finishing rock bottom with a poor W4 D14 L27 record.

Exeter and Forest Green are both up already, regardless of whichever way the title race swings on Saturday.

The race behind them for the final automatic promotion spot is going to be tense.

Northampton and Bristol Rovers are locked together on 77 points, with Northampton being far better off in the goal difference.

But Mansfield, Port Vale and Swindon are still all within striking distance.

Position Team Wins Draws Losses Points
1st Exeter 23 15 7 84
2nd Forest Green 23 14 8 83
3rd Northampton 22 11 12 77
4th Bristol Rovers 22 11 12 77
5th Mansfield 22 10 13 76
6th Port Vale 21 12 12 75
7th Swindon 21 11 13 74
8th Sutton 21 10 14 73
9th Tranmere 20 12 13 72

Northampton make a trip to Barrow who are fourth from the bottom, but safe for the season.

So that’s not the worst fixture for them and Northampton are at 8/13 to win it and guarantee automatic promotion* (odds recorded at 22:20 GMT on May 3rd, 2022 at Betfair).

Bristol Rovers do have the advantage of home soil for their final game and they play host to bottom side Scunthorpe who have only four times all season.

Rovers are massive odds-on favourites for the home win, pretty much ensuring that Northampton have to come up with the goods.

The League Two Playoff picture

Mansfield, who have had a good season on home turf finish their campaign against the already-promoted Forest Green.

The visitors, who have to better Exeter’s result to be crowned Champions have fallen badly out of form.

Mansfield are 7/5 to produce the win that could get them automatic promotion if neither Northampton nor Bristol Rovers win* (odds recorded at 22:20 GMT on May 3rd, 2022 at Betfair).

Port Vale have to visit Champions-elect Exeter in a tough final game of the season. Exeter are playing for the title and are in red-hot home form.

With Vale having lost their last three league matches, they are big 13/5 underdogs for that one* (odds recorded at 22:20 GMT on May 3rd, 2022 at Betfair).

Swindon are on a hot streak, with three wins on the spin at the moment. They are odds on to win away at Walsall who have nothing to play for.

Swindon have pressure on them with Sutton and Tranmere waiting to pounce.

Sutton make a trip to Harrogate for a match which they are 10/11 odds-on to win* (odds recorded at 22:20 GMT on May 3rd, 2022 at Betfair).

Tranmere, the lowest-positioned team that could squeeze into the League One playoffs, have an away match at Leyton Orient which looks far from cut and dry.

League Two Betting Tips and predictions

Champions: That should be Exeter who are the form team and even though they host a team who in the playoff hunt, the Imps should be crowned champions.

Automatic Promotion: Northampton should get across the line for automatic promotion on their trip to Barrow.

They have a good goal difference advantage over Bristol Rovers. While Rovers will be expected to hammer Scunthorpe, it probably won’t be enough to overhaul Northampton.

Playoffs: Mansfield can avoid defeat at home against a faltering Forest Green to book a playoff spot.

Swindon’s recent form suggests that they can do enough to get a win at Walsall to stay in the playoff zone.

As for the rest of the playoff picture, Port Vale look the most valuable as they are out of form and have to go to Exeter.

That could well open the door for Sutton, who have four wins in their last six to sneak in there by beating Harrogate.
