Levante vs Mallorca Betting Tips – La Liga, 22nd November 20.00pm

Paco Lopez’s Levante welcome Vicente Moreno’s Mallorca to the Estadi Cuicat de Valencia in La Liga on Friday night. These two teams seem pretty well matched, and an away win will put them level on points after 14 games played. However, Levante are the 4/5 favourites to get the win on home soil, while Mallorca are currently priced at 16/5. Which way will this one go in Valencia on Friday evening?

Levante News and Form – Will the Frogs make it three wins in four?

Paco Lopez’s Levante, who finished in 15th place last season, have made an okay start to this campaign. The Frogs have picked up five wins, suffered six losses and drawn twice. The Valencia-based club have taken 17 points from 13 matches to sit in 12th position ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures.

Levante have been solid at home in La Liga this term, winning half of their opening six matches. Lopez’s troops have beaten the likes of Villarreal, Valladolid and Barcelona. In the game against Barca earlier in the month, a stunning second-half display gave Levante a famous 3-1 win.

Unfortunately for the Frogs, they followed up that superb triumph over Barcelona with an away defeat to Athletic Bilbao before the international break. Despite taking the lead through Sergio Postigo’s first-half goal, Levante were beaten 2-1 in Bilbao. Can they get back to winning ways on Friday night?

Levante vs Mallorca Head to Head

In the Spanish Segunda Division in the 2016-17 season, Levante picked up four points from the two league meetings

Mallorca have not beaten Levante since a 4-0 victory back in December 2012

Levante are unbeaten in the last four meetings (winning two, drawing two)

This will be the first top flight meeting between the pair for over seven years

Key-Facts – Levante vs Mallorca

  • 11 of Levante’s 17 points have come on home turf
  • Mallorca have lost each of their opening five away games in La Liga
  • The home team have scored 16 and conceded 16 so far

Mallorca News and Form – Can the Vermilions claim their first away point?

Mallorca are just above the relegation zone at present, winning only four of their opening 13 games. Meanwhile, the Vermilions have already suffered seven defeats, with only the current bottom three (Leganes, Espanyol & Celta Vigo) losing more games up until now.

However, before the international break, Mallorca claimed a much-needed home win over Villarreal. The Barralet were excellent at the Estadi de Son Moix, with Lago Junior, Dani Rodriguez (both penalties) and Takefusa Kubo scoring in a comfortable 3-1 win.

Mallorca have one of the best home records in the league, but Vicente Moreno’s side have been awful on the road. The Vermilions have lost all five of their away games and are the only side in Spain’s top flight yet to pick up an away point. Can they change that this Friday night?

Levante vs Mallorca Predictions

Levante win: Considering that Mallorca were promoted back to the top flight from the Segunda Division at the end of last season, the club based in Palma have made a decent start thus far. Moreno’s troops have won four times at the Estadi de Son Moix, though they are the only team in La Liga without an away point.

Levante will be hoping to capitalise on Mallorca’s dreadful away form, and I can see the hosts picking up their fourth home league win of the season on Friday night. Back Levante to prevail at 4/5.

Not only have Mallorca lost all of their away matches this term, Moreno’s side have failed to score in four of them. Overall, they have netted just two and conceded a whopping 12 away goals. With that in mind, I’m backing the home team to win to nil on Friday at 9/4.
