You won’t have found many punters expecting Rennes to come away with the French Cup title back in April. They faced up to the reigning champions PSG in the Final. However, instead of just making up the numbers in the game, Rennes just wouldn’t go away. It was a 2-2 draw after extra time that the Final produced after Rennes had been 2-0 down within 21 minutes. Rennes then triumphed in the subsequent penalty shootout. Can they pull off some repeat heroics? The win in the Super Cup had come after 3-1 and 4-1 defeats against PSG in the league that season. Because of that French Cup win, they are going up against PSG for another piece of silverware. Rennes finished tenth in Ligue 1 last season.
