Real Madrid v Las Palmas Betting Preview – La Liga 5th November 7.45pm

It has not been the best of weeks then for Real Madrid. They slipped further back in their La Liga title defence last weekend with a shock loss at Girona and then they pretty much blew their chances of winning their Champions League group as they lost at Tottenham in midweek. Last season underdogs Las Palmas picked up two draws against Real Madrid in the league. Can they possibly pull it off again?

Real Madrid v Las Palmas Betting Tips

It was not the best of weeks for Real Madrid then having lost against La Liga newcomers Girona las weekend and then losing against Tottenham in the Champions League which saw their chances of winning their group dwindle. Zinedine Zidane’s men will get a chance to snap back to winning ways as they host an out of form Las Palmas on Sunday. There were two surprise drawn matches between these two last season in La Liga, but Los Merengues will be backed to beat them this time around, even though Madrid won’t be full of confidence. Real Madrid’s league form reads W6 D2 L2 which pales in comparison to the W9 D1 record that rivals Barcelona have produced. But Real had put together a four match winning streak before their loss at Girona last weekend. They are gathering momentum at the Bernabeu as well with back to back wins following a defeat there against Real Betis in September. That’s just two wins from five home games in the league though.

Their two recent wins at home were both with clean sheets of Espanyol and Eibar and Real Madrid to win to nil looks a decent price of 11/10 at Paddy Power, therefore, even though they have only collected three league clean sheets this season home and away in the league. Cristiano Ronaldo still only has the one league goal this season but as usual is the 7/4 first goalscorer favourite for the match. Both games between these two last season were high scoring affairs but right now under 3.5 goals at Paddy Power has big appeal at a price of 9/4. Real Madrid have only scored more than two goals on one occasion at home this season only and in the correct score market, a realistic real Madrid 2-0 option is a price of 11/1.

Las Palmas are having a tough season in the Spanish top flight. They are currently on a dreadful sequence form having lost six in a row and they have failed to score in four of those defeats. The Gran Canaria crew are W2 L8 overall from their ten games in La Liga this season. They ended last season with a five match losing streak. Las Palmas are on a three match losing streak away from home and they have failed to score in four of their five road games this term. They produced some heroics last season to draw 3-3 at the Bernabeu but they look a long way from being able to repeat the feat of collecting a point there. There have only been the eight previous games between these two sides and Real Madrid are 5-1 up with the two draws.

Real Madrid v Las Palmas Predictions

Real Madrid to win: This should be fairly routine for Real Madrid because Las Palmas are a defensive mess and they aren’t going to be able to do what Girona did to Los Merengues last weekend. Look for a home which Real Madrid suddenly badly need and for them to win to nil.
