Real Madrid News and Form

It looks as if Gareth Bale could be staying at Real Madrid after all. He doesn’t want to be there and Boss Zindiane Zidane doesn’t want him there. But a proposed move for Bale to China was scuppered by the club because they didn’t want Bale to go out on the cheap. So that is some strange saga that is happening and Bale isn’t on the trip to Germany for this Audi Cup action. So it doesn’t look like he’s a happy camper. He misses out then against his former club.

Real Madrid have been in action in the International Champions Cup this summer and they haven’t been in great shape. They opened with a 3-1 reverse against Bayern Munich, before fighting back to a 2-2 draw with Arsenal after having been 2-0 down. But then in their final match in the competition, they were torn asunder by rivals Atletico Madrid in a 7-3 loss which was just bizarre. All in all, Real Madrid look to be in a bit of a summer mess.

There’s is a lot of personnel changes going on at the club this summer. Their front line now features Luka Jovic, Eden Hazard and Rodygro who have all joined up. James Rodriguez returns to his parent club from being out on loan at Bayern Munich. Marco Asensio was badly injured in preseason and could be out for a long time, perhaps another part of the reason why they decided to not move on Bale.

Tottenham News and Form

Spurs opened up in the international Champions Cup with a 3-2 win over Juventus, in which Harry Kane scored a wonder goal winner in the 93rd minute. In their second fixture in the competition they lost 2-1 against Manchester United. That was action out in Asia and now it is back to Europe for them for this Audi Cup. After this on August 4th, they will face Inter Milan at home in what will be their final ICC match of the summer. With Tottenham’s pre-season action seeing plenty of goals, hopefully that will continue through to this friendly.

Spurs have really only made one big move in the summer transfer market. They brought in Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon for £55 million. It will be interesting to see if they actually try and bring in some goal scoring support for Harry Kane throughout the season. Danny Rose has travelled to Germany having been left out of their Asia tour as he was trying to get a move out of the club. Spurs don’t have Serge Aurirer, Eric Dier or Victor Wanyama available.

Real Madrid v Tottenham Predictions

Tottenham to win: Why not have a look at Spurs to win this one. Real Madrid look behind in their pre-season preparations. With all the ins-and-outs at the club, it may take some time for Zidane to figure out his best way forward in this summer of rebuilding. Spurs may have a chance here.
