Mishriff could shine in a small, but tough Coral-Eclipse field

There is only a field of four to look at for this year’s Coral Eclipse racing odds from Sandown on Saturday.

But it should still be a cracking, competitive race. The current Coral Eclipse Racing odds are being headed up by MISHRIFF.

Will he land the big prize under some strong challenges? The Coral-Eclipse is a Group 1 fixture ran over a distance of 1m 2f.

This Coral Eclipse 2021 preview looks at each of the runners that are heading to the start on Saturday.

Coral Eclipse Racing Odds

Mishriff 6/4
St Mark’s Basilica 13/8

Mishriff 6/4 FAV in Coral Eclipse Racing Odds

There has been hot form from MISHRIFF who is sitting on a hattrick chance as he lines up at 6/4 for Saturday’s action* (odds recorded at 18:12 GMT on July 2nd, 2021 at Coral).

This is a good-quality field that he is taking on. The latest of those wins for Mishriff happened in the Group 1 Dubai Sheema Classic in March.

That was a performance that made everyone sit up and take notice. He is coming down on a trip for this race now but he is likely to be just as effective here.

Mishriff now has the big proven Group 1 form behind him and that’s two wins from two from him at this level.

The home crowd is waiting for him to deliver something special. Will it come in this intriguing Eclipse by taking down ST MARK’S BASILICA?

Can St Mark’s Basilica be stopped?

Aidan O’Brien’s ST MARK’S BASILICA is a 13/8 quote for Coral Eclipse betting* (odds recorded at 18:12 GMT on July 2nd, 2021 at Coral).

He has not missed a beat this season, really delivering a tremendous amount of promise. At the end of the last campaign, he picked up a good score and it has only gotten better for him.

2021 has seen him claim wins at Longchamp in the French 2000 Guineas and impressively so at the Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly. He posted some good times in both of those successes.

St Mark’s Basilica has firmly established himself as one of the best middle-distance runners around. This would be another impressive feather in his cap if he gets it.

Addeybb not to be discounted

Willie Haggas has a big player in the field as well in the form of ADDEYBB who can’t be counted out.

The seven-year-old is a quote of 11/4 in Coral Eclipse Racing Odds* (odds recorded at 18:12 GMT on July 2nd, 2021 at Coral).

He took his form forward in April with a Group 1 success in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick. Addeybb has the experience to make his presence felt in his one.

It has been three wins in his last four runs now and he is fantastically versatile so it won’t matter what the conditions end up being like.

Addeybb is definitely not without a chance of getting his nose in front for Coral Eclipse racing odds.

El Drama with too much to find?

The race is low in numbers, but even with that in mind, EL DRAMA looks to have a lot to find to get in the frame in this one.

On his penultimate run, he took a win at Chester in the Dee Stakes in May, but a follow-up performance in the Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly wasn’t good.

El Drama was well held in that one, a race won by the re-opposing St Mark’s Basilica. He looks like a useful colt.

But at the same time from 28/1 in Coral Eclipse racing odds, he looks to be well out of his depth* (odds recorded at 18:12 GMT on July 2nd, 2021 at Coral).

Predictions & Tips for Coral Eclipse Racing Odds

So it is a small, yet very high-quality field and what order do we think that they come in? We have a slight preference for Mishriff on the back of his score at Meydan.

The four-year-old has looked even better this year and is our tip for Coral Eclipse racing odds at 6/4* (odds recorded at 18:12 GMT on July 2nd, 2021 at Coral).

Naturally, ST MARK’S BASILICA shouldn’t be far away with some fantastic form under his belt. It’s the same situation for ADDEYBB who is good enough to upset both.
