Today’s Horse Racing Tip

It’s a small field for this one and FRODON is lining up as the 8/11 odds-on favourite for it * (betting odds recorded 21:53 GMT on April 23rd, 2021 at William Hill).

He was last seen in action at the Gold Cup at the Cheltenham Festival in which he took a fifth-place finish. That was a long, hard slog that was always likely going to be asking too much of him.

But Frodon wasn’t disgraced and he will definitely find the waters a lot calmer in this one. Frodon comes down in tip and class for Saturday’s action in the Oaksey Chase.

We think that he should have this in the bag in what is effectively a two-horse race with MISTER FISHER the biggest threat to him.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

This is the big feature race for Sandown horse racing betting on the weekend, the Celebration Chase.

We can basically chop this fixture down to a leading trio of contenders in PUT THE KETTLE ON, ALTIOR and SCEAU ROYAL.

Altior has won the last three editions of this race and will be showing up for the first time since December. It was a poor effort at Kempton that he had on that last run.

SCEAU ROYAL was fighting at the Champion Chase at Cheltenham after having almost been taken out of the race by another. But he was travelling well.

For us, however, we can’t get past the gutsy mare PUT THE KETTLE ON at 11/4 in Celebration Chase betting* (betting odds recorded 21:53 GMT on April 23rd, 2021 at William Hill).

She continues to perform at such a high level every time we see her, and she showed that she still has more about her by winning the Champion Chase last month.

This could be a really close thing between the three of them, so we are going with heart and guts to win out for Henry De Bromhead seven-year-old.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

This is a big field and an exciting race should go down in this one. Narrowly heading the market is PLAN OF ATTACK at the time of writing.

But this is a deep field and this is just wide open. In terms of odds value, we can’t get past 11/1 shot POTTERMAN for the contest* (betting odds recorded 21:53 GMT on April 23rd, 2021 at William Hill).

Alan King’s eight-year-old lost his rider in the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury in November on his last run.

So he is returning from a break in this one, but he is not to be dismissed just because of that. This trip is the only slight question mark over him.

But he is a good strong horse and Potterman has been shaping well this season and hadn’t been out of the top two in four races before that Newbury mishap.

He was sandwiched in second place between EL PRESENTE and KITTY’S LIGHT at Wincanton in the autumn. The surface suits Potterman here and we think he takes it.

This is another of the wide-open fixtures for Saturday’s Sandown racing as far as we can see.

YOU NEVER CALL is definitely a strong player in this one and he won the previous edition of the fixture as well.

However, we think another race winner, CALL ME LORD is the way to go at 5/1 for the race* (betting odds recorded 21:53 GMT on April 23rd, 2021 at William Hill).

He has actually won this fixture twice before and we like what we saw from him at Aintree on his latest run.

While Call Me Lord couldn’t hang for the extended 3m contest there, the drop back in trip is likely going to put him in very good stead in this one.

There is a fine record which he has at Sandown and he is right in this.

We are sticking with the favourite that is KILLER CLOWN for this Sandown effort at 10/3* (betting odds recorded 21:53 GMT on April 23rd, 2021 at William Hill).

He continues to progress very well and on Boxing Day won a strong contest at Kempton in novice company.

Killer Clown showed a lot of quality to take a second-place finish in a Grade 3 handicap at Newbury on his latest effort. That was in the Greatwood Cup.

There has been a 3lb rise for Killer Clown in his ratings, but there is a chance that he is going to take that in his stride.

The biggest challenger to Killer Clown is NOT THAT FUISSE who goes in refitted cheekpieces.
