Non league sides have already shown they can match League 1 opposition in this season’s FA Cup and League 1 promotion hopefuls Rotherham United will not be looking forward to a Monday night trip to the SportNation.bet Stadium to take on National League high-fliers Solihull Moors.

Solihull Moors Form and Team News

Managed by former Blackburn Rovers, Leicester and England goalkeeper Tim Flowers, the Moors are currently third in the National League. They are on a terrific run of form having won five and drawn one of their last six matches in all competitions.
No side in their division has conceded fewer goals and their players are determined to go one better than last year when they lost to Blackpool in the second round of the FA Cup. They just missed out on hosting Arsenal in round three, though promotion to the EFL is still their main target this year having lost in the play-offs last season.
There is no shortage of experience in their ranks with veteran skipper Darren Carter having played in the Premier League with Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion. Gavin Gunning was a stalwart for both Blackburn Rovers and Dundee United and spent time on loan at Rotherham and big striker Danny Wright has scored goals wherever he’s ended up.
The Moors edged out Oxford City in round one and look certain to provide a big test for the Millers.

Rotherham United Form and Team News

Paul Warne will have warned his players that they could be in for a tough evening at the SportNation.bet Stadium as freezing conditions could lead to a tricky playing surface with the FA Cup also a great leveller.
But the Rotherham manager will take heart from the fact that his side have been better on the road recently than at their own New York Stadium. They have won five of their last seven away games in all competitions to leave them lying fourth in League 1. They also saw off National League opposition in round one, though had to come from behind to beat Maidenhead and only got on top when their hosts were reduced to 10 men.
United are usually good for a goal or two, especially Freddie Ladapo, but have defensive issues ahead of this cup tie. Richard Wood, Joe Mattock and Billy Jones are all injured and Clark Robertson may have to pass a late fitness test. Matt Crooks is probably still not ready for 90 minutes but Warne could recall winger Jake Hastie for this tie, though Solihull’s tight pitch may not be ideal.

Solihull Moors vs Rotherham United Current Match Odds

Solihull Moors vs Rotherham United Predictions

Two in-form teams should make for an entertaining spectacle.
Rotherham have a never-say-die attitude but they often give the opposition a goal start and free-scoring Solihull Moors are an attractive 9/2 with Coral to be leading after 30 minutes with the visitors likely to again field an unfamiliar back four. This tie may well need a replay with the Draw priced up at 14/5 with Betvictor.
