Monday's best football betting tips

Danny Ings / Southampton ©IMAGO / Sportimage 03.08.2019

The big game of today’s football betting tips is from the Premier League.

Everton will be aiming to build on a fantastic win that they claimed over rivals Liverpool last time out.

Along with their game against Southampton in the top flight, we will also be visiting mainland Europe for some further betting tips today.

Monday evening kicks off another huge week of football. We’ll start it all off at Goodison Park.

Best Football Betting Tips Today: Everton v Southampton

There is a decent chance at another three points for Everton on Monday evening as they host Southampton.

The Toffees claimed a fantastic away win in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool in their last league fixture.

That snapped back to back defeats that they had been on.

For Monday’s night’s game against the Saints, Everton are 21/20 favourites.

Everton have lost their way a little bit at Goodison Park, having lost their last three there and going winless in four.

After their bright start to the season, they have stalled a bit to a W4 D2 L6 home record.

But Southampton have taken hit after hit recently.

2021 started in fine style for them as they claimed a home win over Liverpool at St Marys.

But it’s been all downhill since as Southampton have taken on point from their last eight league games.

It’s a 5/2 quote on a win for the Saints in the match outright.

They were hammered by Leeds 3-0 at Elland Road in their last game.

The Saints have now conceded at least three goals in four of their last seven.

Everton to win at 21/20

Football Betting Picks Today: Benfica v Rio Ave

We are heading to Portugal next for today’s football betting tips.

Benfica have some work to do to try and make up some ground on the top two.

They are six points out of second place with a game in hand.

Benfica have not been running in hot form recently either as they are W1 D4 L1 in their last six league fixtures.

A home win for Benfica in this one is rolling in at 4/9 odds so they are strong favourites.

Benfica have earned a very solid W7 D2 L1 record on home soil in the top flight, after all, so they do have their merits.

Earlier this season they coasted to a 3-0 road win at Rio Ave as well.

They have averaged 1.8 goals per home game, while they have conceded at an average of less than a goal per home league fixture.

Rio Ave are a mid-table side in the top fight and have won five of twenty fixtures this season.

Just two of those have been away from home (D4 L4).

It is reasonable to assume that they are going to come up short in this one.

Rio Ave have scored only the 7 goals in their 10 away games played in this campaign.

Benfica to win to nil at 7/5

Football Betting Tips for Today: Moreirense v Belenenses

We stay in the Portuguese top flight for the next pick in football betting for today.

Moreirense are the 8/5 favourites to claim maximum points.

It has only been a W3 D5 L2 record on home soil by them this season.

They have failed to win any of their last four on home turf (D3 L1) and only 40% of their home games have gone over 2.5 goals.

So this could be a tight tussle on Monday night, and Moreirense are undefeated on home soil against teams outside of the current top five.

Across the course of this season, Moreirense averaged under a goal per game in the top flight this season.

So while they look able to avoid defeat on home soil against Belenenses on Monday night, will they have enough to find the win?

Bet at Betfair

The visitors are unbeaten in their last four league games (W1 D3).

It has been a poor season away from home by them as they have claimed only a W1 D4 L4 record.

They have been really poor in front of goal this season and have an average of 0.55 goals per game.

Belenenses have only managed one goal in their nine away games this season, which is just remarkable.

Belenenses are 19/10 underdogs for this game, but that looks like a big stretch at the moment for them.

Draw at 2/1

Online Betting Football Tip: Mirandes v Malaga

We are moving on to Spain next for football betting today as we look at Mirandes v Malaga.

Mirandes suffered a 1-0 loss on the road in their last league games, which saw them miss a chance to move to a five-match unbeaten streak.

The home record that Mirandes have taken in the second tier is W4 D6 L3 this season.

They have only taken one victory in their last six on home turf (D3 L2).

This could be a low-scoring game and only 15% of their home games have made it over 2.5 goals.

Mirandes average 1 goal per game this season, while they conceded at an average of 0.85 goals per game.

So they don’t look too likely to slip to a defeat in this one and they are 5/4 to get the win in this one.

This is nothing more than a mid-table scrap and there has been indifferent form from Malaga too.

They have lost three of their last five games, but they are W6 D2 L5 on the road.

Four of their road losses have been against teams who are currently sat in the top six.

So they should be able to avoid defeat in this one.

Surprisingly they currently boast the fourth-best away record in the second tier and could stick in there for a point.

Draw at 2/1

Online Betting Football Tip: Real Madrid v Socieadad

We do have a big game from La Liga to have a look at on Monday night as well as Real Madrid look to get more points on the board in the title race.

This is a big top-five clash though and in it, Real Madrid are looking to secure a fifth-straight win.

They have taken a W8 L3 record on home soil from their eleven games.

Real Madrid are 5/6 odds-on favourites to get the win on the board in this one.

Los Blancos have only failed to win three of their last fourteen league games so they do have some big momentum.

They have won their last two on home soil, both 2-0 victories over Getafe and Valencia.

This will only be the second home game that Real Madrid have played this season against a team currently in the top six.

So this could be a tricky test and Real Sociedad show up as 3/1 underdogs.

Sociedad have actually won two of their last three games at Real Madrid in all competitions.

It has been three straight wins for them and they have moved on to a W6 D3 L3 record on the road.

They have been very solid in defence this season and are conceding at an average of under a goal per game.

The one question mark over their chances here is that they are D1 L2 in their three away games this season against other current top six teams.

Real Madrid to win at 5/6
