The UEFA Champions League is back and we will be taking a look at some of the action from the competition for football betting tips today.

There is also a Championship fixture that we will be looking at, as well as picking out some selections from League One on the domestic front.

Let’s just straight into today’s football betting tips.

Best Football Betting Tips Today: Marseille v Man City

Manchester City will be looking to build on their opening 3-1 win over Porto in this season’s UEFA Champions League.

They had a struggle again in the Premier League on the weekend, playing out a 1-1 draw with West Ham.

The Citizens are still struggling to get consistency and find anything like top gear this season. But they are 1/3 odds-on favourites for Tuesday night’s fixture in France.

This will be their first European encounter with Marseille so we are entering some new territory for this game.

Even though their form has been patchy, Pep Guardiola’s men are unbeaten in their last five games across all competitions.

They have, however, only taken two clean sheets in their last six fixtures.

Marseille suffered a 1-0 loss against Olympiakos in their Champions League group stage opener.

While they have been in steady form in Ligue 1 that was a major setback on the European front for them and they are 8/1 underdogs with Betfair for this game.

Marseille are in their first Champions League campaign since the 2013/14 season. In that season they lost all six group stage fixtures.

In total it is a 10 match losing streak that the French side are on in the competition. They haven’t won any of their last nine European matches.

Given that they are at home and facing a slightly unstable City defence, we would back the French side to at least get on the scoresheet.

Manchester City to win & BTTS at 13/8

Football Betting Picks Today: Barnsley v QPR

Next up for football betting for today is Barnsley v QPR from the Championship. Both are in desperate need of a win.

Barnsley have not managed to pick up a win in their seven attempts this season in the second tier.

They are currently at D4 L3 and they are currently on a three-match sequence of draws.

A draw at 11/5 is worth consideration for this one with bookmaker Betfair.

The home from Barnsley is D2 L1 and they have scored in just one of those three fixtures at Oakwell.

The one thing that they do have going for them is that they are D2 L1 in their last three home fixtures against QPR.

QPR are D2 L1 in their three away games. They are unwanted in their last two out on the road, drawing at Sheffield Wednesday and Bournemouth.

Those weren’t bad results at all. Both teams have drawn four and lost one of their last five league fixtures.

QPR did win their opening game of the campaign, but it’s been difficult for them since then.

It’s hard to look past a draw between the two as the away side QPR have taken two clean sheets in their last three.

Draw at 11/5

Football Betting Tips for Today: Plymouth v Doncaster

This is going to be a fantastic clash from Home Park in League One on Tuesday night.

What makes this interesting is that Plymouth are unbeaten on home soil in the league this season, with a W3 D1 record.

So that has been a pretty handy return from them, but we have to break things down and take a closer look.

All but one of Plymouth’s games this season (home and away combined) have happened against teams who are 16th or lower in the division currently.

The Pilgrims are the 2/1 underdogs for this fixture.

Doncaster are arriving in some good form having posted a W4 D1 L2 record this season in League One.

They have won two of their three away games for the campaign.

Rovers lost 2-1 at home against Crewe on the weekend, which was a big upset, as Doncaster missed the chance to win three in a row.

But prior to that they had taken good wins over Portsmouth and Ipswich, teams who are currently located in the top five.

Doncaster are 7/5 to collect the win in what should be an intriguing match. We think the visitors are just worth backing to get it by the narrowest of margins.

They have won their last two trips to Home Park.

Doncaster to win by a 1 goal margin at 3/1

Online Betting Football Tip: Borussia Monchengladbach v Real Madrid

We are heading back to the Champions League next for football betting for today.

German side Monchengladbach will have been delighted with their efforts on match day one.

They weren’t given much of a hope as they visited the San Siro to face Inter, but the Bundesliga club got themselves a good 2-2 draw.

They find themselves as underdogs again for match day two as they are 11/4 with Betfair to get a win in this one.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams since 1976 clashes in the European Cup. Those two matches beaten ended in a draw.

Real Madrid snapped out of two straight losses by winning El Clasico against Barcelona in league action on the weekend.

On match day one of this season’s Champions League, Real Madrid went down 2-3 at home against Shakhtar.

So they have a little ground to make up. They are 5/6 to get three points in Germany.

They are on a three match winning streak in Germany, but their overall record there is only W7 D7 L19.

But then six of those seven wins have happened in their last nine visits, so we’d have to side with the Spaniards.

Real Madrid to win at 5/6

Online Betting Football Tip: Ipswich v Gillingham

The last game we are looking at for football betting today is Ipswich v Gillingham back in the Championship.

Ipswich had a great start to the new campaign, going six matches unbeaten, winning five of those.

But they have just hit a little speedbump, having lost their last two games played.

The Tractor Boys lost at Lincoln on the weekend and both of those defeats were away from home.

So they hold a 100% record at Portman Road this season and they head back into action as the 4/6 favourites with Betfair.

Gillingham have failed to score on their three visits to Portman Road.

Their current form isn’t great as they have lost their three league games and have dropped four of their last five in all competitions (W1).

Gillingham are W3 D1 L4 for the season in the league and the concerning thing on top of the fact that they have not taken a point in any of their last three, is that they failed to score in any of those.

Ipswich to win at 4/6
