Today’s football betting tips pull some selections from both the UEFA Champions League and the Championship.

This is the first of two big midweek nights in both of the competitions.

It’s five tips for football betting today that we have to browse over and it starts in the Champions League.

Best Football Betting Tips Today: Real Madrid v Atalanta

Italian side Atalanta may well have missed their big opportunity in this Champions League tie.

They suffered a 1-0 loss in the home leg of this tie.

So they have a big task ahead on Tuesday to turn this around.

Atalanta are a powerful, free-scoring side who on their night can pose a big threat.

There is a respectable enough quote of 23/10 on the away win happening on the night.

But the fact that their attacking unit was shut down in the first leg, suggests that this may be beyond them.

Atalanta have won all three away games in this season’s competition, all to nil and one of those was at Anfield against Liverpool.

But Real Madrid are a solid 21/20 odds quote to finish the job in the second leg.

They are undefeated in their last eight games in all competitions, winning six.

Real Madrid hosted Inter Milan in the group stage and claimed a win over them. We think they sneak past Atalanta.

Real Madrid to win at 21/20

Football Betting Picks Today: Cardiff v Stoke

It is the Championship next for today’s football betting tips as we look at Cardiff v Stoke.

Cardiff’s brilliant momentum up the table was halted on the weekend as they suffered a home loss against Watford.

That left the Bluebirds a distant seven points outside of the top six.

It snapped a fantastic run of eleven matches undefeated that Cardiff had been on, and also a three-match winning streak on home turf.

So they may well be worth revisiting to get back to winning ways at 23/20

One defeat against a team sitting second in the league is no major concern for the Bluebirds.

They have solid home form at the moment and Brentford are the only team to have scored more goals in this season’s Championship then Cardiff.

Earlier this season Cardiff won 2-1 away at Stoke.

The Potters lost heavily at Middlesbrough on the weekend, which was their fourth loss in their last five league games.

It is their away form which has badly tanked as the loss at the Riverside moved them on to a four-match losing streak on the road.

There’s not too much appeal in the 13/5 underdog odds on them.

Stoke lost their last visit to Cardiff as well, and we see a repeat of that happening.

Cardiff to win at 23/20

Football Betting Tips for Today: Derby v Brentford

The Bees collected their third win with the last four games as they sneaked a win at Blackburn on the weekend.

That moved them on to a solid W9 D4 L5 away record for the season in the Championship.

It was a win that they needed though on the road for a bit of confidence.

Brentford had slumped to a three-match losing streak on the road.

But they are back in business and Bretford go to Derby in midweek as the 21/20 favourites.

There are plenty of claims there. Brentford have the second-best away record in the division.

They are also the top-scoring side in the Championship as it stands, well clear of anyone else.

Derby are falling at the moment as they failed to collect a win in their last five (D2 L3).

They have been struggling badly for goals as well.

The Rams, who are the 29/10 underdogs, have failed to hit the back in any of their last four league games.

So that is a bit of a desperate situation for them at the moment.

Debry have only averaged 0.67 goals per game at Pride Park this season.

The visitors look the more likely of the two.

Online Betting Football Tip: Bournemouth v Swansea

The promotion hopes of Bournemouth took another hit on the weekend as they lost at home against the in-form Barnsley.

That saw the Cherries drop further away from the top-six and with some work to do.

Bournemouth are the 11/10 favourites to get the win in this home game, however.

But it has been a mixed W2 L2 record from them in their last four at the Liberty Stadium.

Overal,m the Cherries have earned a W10 D3 L5 home record this season in the Championship and have taken a clean sheet in 44% of home games.

But their consistency hasn’t been there since the turn of the new year and are actually W3 D1 L4 in their last eight league home games.

Swansea are third in the table and still knocking on the door of automatic promotion.

They claimed a win at Luton on the weekend, leaving them with a good four-match unbeaten run (W3 D1).

The Swans are W9 D4 L4 on their travels and this season have won at Barnsley and Cardiff, the two teams who immediately sandwich Bournemouth in the table.

The visitors have a chance in this one.

Online Betting Football Tip: Middlesbrough v Preston

The final game for today’s football betting tips is from the Riverside as Midlesbrough look to build on a win from the weekend.

Boro earned a very good home win over Stoke but they are a distant eight points outside of the playoff positions.

But there could be a good chance of building some momentum here as they face an out of sorts Preston.

Boro have lost only one of their last four home games (D2 L1).

While their form at the Riverside has been pretty miserable this year, it just looks like it is back on the up.

The home win in the match outright is a quote of 10/11 odds-on.

Preston have picked up just one league win in their last seven games.

That was a home success over Huddersfield.

On the weekend they suffered a poor defeat away at bottom side Wycombe.

That was the third straight road loss for Preston.

They have also failed to score in four of their last seven games so it’s not quite happening for them at the moment.

So the away win is a distant reach here at 16/5 odds.

Preston don’t look to be in the kind of shape to go and leave the northeast with a win.

Middlesbrough to win at 10/11
