Today’s Horse Racing Tips & Odds – Friday, 17th September 2021

There is a big day of racing from Ayr that we are going to take a look at for today’s horse racing tips.

There are a couple of Listed fixtures from the venue there to look forward to.

It’s four selections from Ayr that we have for today’s horse racing betting and there’s a further Listed fixture from Newbury as well.

Race Preview

DANDALLA piques interest despite not hitting the expected levels for her juvenile season. Still, with the right run, she poses a threat.

Dandalla did score at Group 2 as a 2-year-old. There have been plenty of times this season that she just has not been seen to the best effect.

That was true with her fight at the Beverley Bullet three weeks ago. She’s capable and is no forlorn hope in this big field.

RUSSIAN RIVER is another that’s capable of getting there at Ayr on Friday.

She hasn’t managed to find a winning touch on the turf but has been consistently finding good runs in defeat at the Listed level.

There’s no reason why, after a break of a couple of months, that she can’t get in the frame.

KEEP BUSY is a course winner and has proven form at higher levels behind her. She didn’t go well in France three weeks ago but had taken a credible fight in a Goodwood Group 2 before that.

It’s a big field so we made one more selection for the shortlist. That’s WHITE LAVENDER who has taken back to back runner-up finishes.

She showed a lot of improvement to get second in a listed race last time out and could be a big player.

Race Preview

Next for today’s racing tips is this short sprint for the young ones. CANONIZED has been doing well and brings a little more experience to the table.

She has won a couple of times this season and showed up well to take a second-place finish in a Listed York race in the summer.

Canonized was last seen claiming fourth place in a French Group 2 two weeks ago. She should be right there for Willie Haggas.

FAST RESPONSE has had a good time of things as well, winning three times. She scored last weekend in a conditions event.

She will need to find further improvement at this level, but First Response is going well and not to discounted.

PEGGY SIOUX is another to watch for the shortlist.

On her debut, she scored a win over EDWARD CORNELIUS with some ease. She looks capable of pushing things forward at this level and is well-bred for this kind of task.

The final shortlist contender is PROJECT DANTE who struggled on a 6f trip last time out at Newmarket.

On his debut, he won at the Dante meeting and has been given a break of more than two months ahead of this reappearance, so she’s interesting.

Another of the day’s big fields at Ayr to dig through for today’s horse racing betting. This is wide open and a tricky call.

CALL ME GINGER, who is the current favourite, is in top shape at the moment and is 2lb well-in for this contest. That’s despite an 8lb rise.

He is sitting on a hattrick chance but hasn’t received a great draw for Friday. Call Me Ginger looks like being one of the big players.

TWILIGHT MADNESS completed a hattrick in fine style at Newmarket back in the summer. He was third on a four-time major at Windsor three weeks ago.

But still, that’s some big handicap form that he brings to the table and warrants plenty of respect back in action.

MARK’S CHOICE has continued in good form recently and he is also a course winner at Ayr.

He was a little unlucky not to compete for a double at Ripon on his latest from this mark so is a contender.

SECRETIN THE PARK is another to be respected under a 5lb penalty. He’s come on leaps and bounds to sit on a hat-trick chance.

There have been three wins for him this year in total and he looks like a much-improved model for his new yard. Secretinthepark has won at 6f before as well and is a lively outsider.

It’s calmer waters here as we look at this Ayr handicap. PRINCE IMPERIAL should find the going a little easier in his one.

He was sixth in a very competitive race at York on his latest run. There was a score for Prince Imperial on his penultimate at Pontefract and should be in the mix.

LET ME BE has won three of his last five efforts and can’t be counted out of this. An extra bit of a break should have helped him and can bounce back from a tired effort at Musselburgh last time out.

HAVEYOUMISSEDME won at Newcastle 11 days ago, which was impressive after a break of 7 weeks yet.

He should be sharp carrying a 6lb penalty and coming up on trip. But he looks to have a lot more to bring to the table.

Charlie Appleby’s AL SUHAIL won at Haydock a couple of weeks ago to get himself back on track. There have been a few struggles this season for him.

But that recent win may have perked him up and he does look like a good gelding. With a trainer who has won this before he could have a fair shout.

D’BAI is another that warrants respect from the same yard. He has put some good form together this season and was second in the Park Stakes at Doncaster on his latest, which was just six days ago.

If this isn’t too soon, albeit that Doncaster effort coming after a break, D’bai has a good shot at this. He was a winner at Meydan this season.

BARADAR isn’t to be written out of this, not with his yard in top form at the moment. Baradar is a course and distance winner.

In July he made his reappearance and looked as if he needed it too. He claimed a second place finish in that one and is entitled to strip fitter.

MAKRAM is in great shape at the moment and delivered a recent win at Sandown. He followed up with a second-place at Newmarket since, but the race didn’t go his way there.

This is the sort of fixture that should bring plenty out of him, as Makram will find the competition pushing him on. He’s likely to be there.

SURREY GOLD warrants plenty of respect as well as he claimed an easy win here at Newbury in the summer.

The conditions look ripe for him on Friday after a struggle on ground that was too quick for him at York recently.

FAVOURITE MOON could be right in the mix as the handicap looks to have given him a big chance.

He was at Royal Ascot 3 months ago and wasn’t disgraced in defeat in heavier conditions. The straight will play to his strengths.
