Here we are, we have arrived at St Leger betting for 20201.

It is the highly impressive HURRICANE LANE who is the 4/5 odds-on favourite* (betting odds recorded 18:55 GMT on 10th September 2021 at William Hill).

That’s pretty big market dominance, especially because there are such other strong contenders in the race.

Hurricane Lane has won all but one race in his career, that lone defeat happening with a third-place finish in the Derby.

He took a six-length victory in the Grand Prix de Paris on his last run, two months ago. The son of Frankel sets the standard.

MOJO STAR finished ahead of Hurricane Lane at the Epsom Derby and has gone on since to shed his maiden tag.

He re-opposed that rival at the Curragh after the Derby and had no luck on the day in trying to get the better of Hurricane Lane, Mojo Star being heavily hampered.

An easy romp in a Newbury maiden last time out sets him up well for this effort and he should be in the places.

OTTOMAN EMPIRE is in cracking form as well. He shrugged off an indifferent debut to win his next four races.

He should be fine at this trip and the pick of his form was a win in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood.

We can get to the 2/1 shot LUSAIL as the horse racing tip in this small Doncaster field* (betting odds recorded 18:55 GMT on 10th September 2021 at William Hill).

He completed a hattrick last time out by scoring the Gimcrack at York three weeks ago. Lusail had Twilight Jet behind him in that effort.

Trainer Richard Hannon has a good record in the Champagne Stakes and with that Group 2 success already under his belt, Lusail has a great chance.

Rating as an obvious danger is REACH FOR THE MOON who is seeking a hattrick. He ran impressively to win the Solario at Sandown on his latest.

This looks like being a good even contest with plenty of claims around.

The form of DANYAH gives this slight preference at 11/4* (betting odds recorded 18:55 GMT on 10th September 2021 at William Hill).

He has been involved in top handicaps in his last two efforts and has improved in both. Danyah claimed a win at the International at Ascot on his latest.

That was only a narrow win, but he showed great determination to dig it out. Danyah comes up in class, but form suggests a bold bid.

LANQASH rates as a danger. On a belated return, Roger Varian’s colt ran a belter in the Hungerford Stakes at Newbury a month ago.

That was a second-place finish that he took there. There is a course and distance win in his juvenile form as well, so warrants big respect.

The other that goes on the shortlist is D’BAI who claimed a Group 2 at Meydan earlier this year.

Following the break, he was in the Hungerford Stakes on his latest and just looked as if he needed that to rediscover some sharpness. He’s entitled to strip fitter for this.

He is lightly raced and took a win earlier this season to claim a win at Yarmouth in May. Form since then has gone up.

It’s been improving form in both runs since, albeit in defeat. Title has been gelded since his latest run and comes into handicapping for the first time.

DARK JEDI should be in the thick of this. He won at Ripon in July after scoring twice before last year. He has been as good as ever in defeat lately.

On his latest run, Dark Jedi was a close third-place finisher at York and he comes up a couple of pounds for this one. He rates a threat still.

CARDANO has a stack of potential and if he is in the mood then he could get heavily involved with her. He won his first two races of this season.

He has gone on trips in his last two, which he has found a little too much. The drop in trip puts him back in the frame.
