Today’s Horse Racing Tips & Odds – Thursday, 14th October 2021

There are three venues in focus for today’s horse racing tips and they are Brighton, Carlisle and Wincanton.

So there is a mix of flat and jumps action for the day.

It’s a total of six horse racing tips that we are looking at from those cards, the pick of the bunch being some Class 3 fixtures from Wincanton.

So here are the best of today’s horse racing tips for Thursday, 14th October 2021.

Race Preview

We kick off today’s racing with a small field with QUARTZ DU RHEU back in focus after missing a hattrick chance last time out.

That was at Warwick, but he went down fighting and a few extra yards he probably would have seem him get there.

However, Quartz Du Rheu has been handed a stiff 6lb rise now. SPEAK OF THE DEVIL gets weight from these rivals and should get close.

He scored at Hexham impressively and came up in the weights as well. If he handles running flesh then the weights are in his favour to go well.

AMALFI DOUG is in good form at the moment, not having been outside of the top three in any of his last six runs.

He has collected a couple of wins at Perth this season, but away from that venue he generally doesn’t look as strong.

Last year’s winner of this race was COURT DREAMING who is back for another crack. He is at the same mark as he was for last year’s success.

However, he has not been able to follow up on that positive form since.

Race Preview

SWORD OF FATE has been enjoying a good year after picking up another win, his third of 2021 at Perth last month.

He was comfortable in that one and has been handed what looks to be a fair 6lb rise for that win. So Sword Of Fate commands big respect for this contest.

ARMATTIEKAN comes down on a trip for Thursday’s effort and that could see him get involved. His jumping form has been a little erratic.

But there was a fair enough effort from him at Warwick to take a third-place finish and could pose a threat if he puts in a clear round.

The final selection for the horse racing betting shortlist is GRIPPER who was a faller at Hexham on his latest.

That was second from home as the 6-year-old looked to be well in the mix for a second-place finish in that one.

If Gripper can build on that Hexham handicap chase then he poses a threat.

There are a few with more than reasonable claims in this one. MR MAFIA returns after a win at Fontwell a month ago.

The veteran chaser looks to be thriving at the moment, as that was his second success in his last three.

Mr Mafia will deal with a 3lb rise in that one. FLYING VERSE has also won two of his last three and will be under a 7lb penalty on Thursday.

That is after a comfortable score in a weak race at Kelso. So more will be demanded of him, but seems to have come to life for his new yard since August.

FRIENDS DON’T ASK is a threat as well, taking his tally to two wins this season at Uttoxeter a month ago.

He has been making some nice improvement over the fences this season and comes up a further 5lb for Thursday’s action. Friends Don’t Ask looks reliable enough to put in a strong shift.

If she runs true to form then SEE THE SEA should take some beating in this one. From this same mark, she smashed the field at Ludlow 8 days ago.

As long as this isn’t too quick of a turnaround from the conditional jockey’s event then See The Sea should be right about there.

GET BACK GET BACK is roughly in the same boat, getting in another run before the handicapper gets after him.

He claimed a second on his latest in a hurdles race at Exeter on a longer trip just a week ago. It’s been good efforts in defeat for Get Back Get Back since his reappearance and can feature.

Another to consider as a horse racing tip is STRONG GLANCE who comes down in grade. This is calmer waters than most of what he was sent into during the spring.

He claimed a couple of wins in bumpers earlier this year, before having a hard time adjusting to strong handicaps at Cheltenham and Aintree.

After a six month break and in an easier contest, Strong Glance is worth a look.

STRIKE THE FLINT made all in a Plumpton score 25 days ago. That was another nice step forward in progress for her.

She has looked revived recently as Strike The Flint and we would expect her to be back in a competitive mood again.

CRY WOLF warrants respect in horse racing betting as he took a place finish at Uttoxeter just over a month ago.

That came after a win at Worcester in August in what was his first run over the hurdles for three years. So that was a positive and Cry Wolf backed it up well.

CUT AND RUN may be worth changing for the shortlist as well. She could bounce back for a yard that is currently in form.

She’s an unpredictable one at best and has not claimed a score for a couple of years. Place claims may be there.

MONTATHER has run into some poor luck the last twice and he now comes down in grade as he looks to get back to winning ways

He showed a lot of early promise but he hasn’t quite fulfilled it yet. Montather looks a good fit for this one, as he’s won his two previous appearances at Chelmsford City.

He is also back to a 1m trip which looks like the right move as well. So Monthather commands big respect on Thursday as a horse racing tip.

PIECE OF HISTORY is worth a look as well after a fifth-place finish at Haydock on his latest. He ran into traffic which ruined his day there.

But Piece Of History is a former course and distance winner. There’s little room from the handicapper with him at the moment, but a clear run and place claims are there.

The final shortlist selection for horse racing betting is JUMEIRAH BAY. There were excuses on his latest which saw him finish well down the field here at Chelmsford City 54 days ago.

He has had his sights lowered and has scored before at the venue. Going for Roger Varian, he is a stablemate of Montather and there could be a good duel between them.
