When and where is the US Open 2021?

The US Open 2021 is played on June 17th-20th and is at the Torrey Pines course in San Diego, California.

The scheduling for the US Open is that the final round will be played on the third Sunday of June.

The US Open has no set home, it travels around providing different challenges on a rolling basis.

Who is the US Open Golf Odds 2021 favourite?

At the head of US Open Golf betting, 2021 is Spain’s Jon Rahm. The Spaniard is still trying to secure his Major breakthrough.

A couple of weeks ago Jon Rahm looked well on course to land the Memorial before he was forced to withdraw.

After having powered out to a six-stroke lead at the event he continues in good form.

There is course history for Rahm, who won the 2017 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.

This will be his fifth visit to the course and he has been in contention in all four of those previous visits.

Last month Rahm took fifth at the Masters at Augusta National.

While he hasn’t quite struck form at the US Open, he looks to be in good shape for a decent crack this year, especially returning to a winning track.

Jon Rahm is the current 9/1 favourite in US Open Golf Odds 2021* (odds recorded at 23:24 GMT on June 15th 2021 at 888Sport).

Our betting prediction:
Justin Rose Top Englishman
5/1

Who is the defending US Open Champion?

Bryson Dechambeau won his first major title at last year’s US Open. It was a dominant display all around from the American, winning by six strokes over Matthew Wolff.

That was the first time that the tournament had been held in September. So conditions were a little different.

But Dechambeau is right up there as a 14/1 selection in the US Open golf odds for 2021* (odds recorded at 23:24 GMT on June 15th 2021 at 888Sport).

Torry Pines is a course that Dechambeau is familiar with, but he hasn’t really gone too well there as a professional.

The current form isn’t quite there either, with Dechambeau not having finished in the top five in any of his last six events.

He is the type of player to figure things out and get back on track, but his performances at the Majors are on a slight decline at the moment.

Can Rory McIlroy get it together at Torrey Pines?

Rory Molly has taken two top-five finishes in three previous visits to the Farmers’ which is held at Torrey Pines.

So that makes for some positive reading for him. McIlroy is a quote of 16/1 in US Open Golf betting this week* (odds recorded at 23:24 GMT on June 15th 2021 at 888Sport).

There was a huge positive for McIlroy as he swung his way to the title at Quail Hollow last month, but hasn’t looked anywhere near as sharp since then.

The US Open has continued to be a source of frustration for McIlroy for most of his career. But there has been recent better efforts from him.

McIlroy has taken top-ten finishes in his last two tries at the championship. But even with that in mind, he hasn’t really threatened to make a run at the title.

A top ten finish looks like a reasonable return for McIlroy and there is a quote of 19/10 in golf betting to see that happen* (odds recorded at 23:24 GMT on June 15th 2021 at 888Sport).

Other Key Contenders in US Open Golf Betting 2021

There are plenty of names here who have a reasonable chance of powering their way to the victory at Torrey Pines.

For the next part of this US Open golf 2021 preview, we will take a look at the betting odds on some of the big players in the field.

Dustin Johnson

Can the World Number One get himself back on track? It’s been a difficult year for him since February really, his form slipping away.

Johnson carded his first top ten finish since February recently and his form at the recent Majors hasn’t been there.

He missed the cut at Augusta for the Masters and then at the US PGA at Kiawah Island. That’s very un-Dustin Johnson-like.

Heading into the US Open golf odds 2021, there is a quote of 16/1 on the victory for Dustin Johnson* (odds recorded at 23:24 GMT on June 15th 2021 at 888Sport).

He looks like he is struggling to put everything together and course form doesn’t really support a positive campaign.

Johnson has taken one top-fifteen finish at Torrey Pines in 10 previous visits. It’s not a course that he has been able to tame.

Brooks Koepka

We are talking about a Major and therefore we have to have a look at Brooks Koepka for US Open golf betting 2021.

He seems to thrive when it comes to US Open time. In each of his last six appearances at the tournament, he crafted a top 20 finish.

Koepka hasn’t carded a sub-70 round at Torrey Pants since a 2015 debut at the Farmers Insurance. It’s not one of his favourite track.

But maybe the hosting of the Major there will see Koepka put together something stronger. He was the runner up last month at the US PGA.

Brooks Koepka is a Majors beast. He has finished in the top two in exactly half of his last fourteen Major tournaments.

From a 16/1 quote to go all the way and take the win on the weekend, he has some appeal in the golf betting market* (odds recorded at 23:24 GMT on June 15th 2021 at 888Sport).

Xander Schauffele

Is the time nearing for Zander Schauffele to card his first Major title? With a top ten finish in half of his previous 16 Majors, he has consistently been in the frame.

This is a home track in San Diego for Schauffele which may help his cause and he arrives in great spirits after going so close to the Masters title at Augusta.

Another boost to the claims of Xander Schauffele in the US Open golf betting market is that may have cracked Torry Pines.

From four missed cuts in five attempts, this January he went to the Farmers again in January this year and produced a brilliant second-place finish.

That may count for a lot and at 18/1 in US Open Golf Odds 2021, Schauffele could feature strongly* (odds recorded at 23:24 GMT on June 15th 2021 at 888Sport).

Best Each Way Golf Betting Tips for the US Open 2021

Looking at the Farmers’ course form, Tony Finau comes into view as he has carded four top-six finishes at the event.

He has banked a top ten finish in half of his previous Major tournaments and has a decent enough track record behind him at Torrey Pines.

There is a quote of 22/1 Finau in US Open 2021 golf betting odds* (odds recorded at 23:24 GMT on June 15th 2021 at 888Sport).

Finau was right in the mix at the Farmers’ back in January this year and he could thrive on the South Course this week.

Distance is an advantage when playing the South Course at Torrey Pines. Even though Justin Rose isn’t the longest of drivers, from a 60/1 quote he piques some interest* (odds recorded at 23:24 GMT on June 15th 2021 at 888Sport).

He has had a light year in terms of workload and has impressed in the other two Majors of 2021 so far, taking a top ten finish in each. It’s not unreasonable to think that he will show a steady hand in San Diego.

Rose is a former US Open winner and has won before at Torrey Pines as well. Rose is a 5/1 quote for a Top Ten finish* (odds recorded at 23:24 GMT on June 15th 2021 at 888Sport).

US Open Predictions

Boiling everything down for US Open golf betting 2021, we are left with Xander Schauffele who looks to be the best fit for this week.

Schauffele has a great record in the US Open itself and brings some strong form to the table.

He looks for his is first Major things that could come together for him as an 18/1 quote* (odds recorded at 23:24 GMT on June 15th 2021 at 888Sport).

For a longer shout we like the fit of Tony Finau as well for US Open golf odds at 22/1* (odds recorded at 23:24 GMT on June 15th 2021 at 888Sport).

We like his prior form at the Farmers and while his form in the Majors is up and down, the way that the South Course plays could help him get into the frame.
