US Presidential Election Odds 2020

It has been an astonishing year in US Politics now it all comes down to the wire on Tuesday, 3rd November when US Citizens go to the polls.

There have been a record number of early votes cast in the 2020 Election. That is perceived as being a huge boost for Biden.

The former Vice President is well ahead in the polls ahead of the incumbent Donald Trump.

But four years ago, the polls were giving Trump no chance whatsoever. But he pulled off a huge shock by beating Hillary Clinton.

Trump is 13/8 to win re-election on Tuesday in US Presidential Election odds* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 04:15 GMT on Tuesday, 3rd November 2020).

This drama may not be all done and dusted on Tuesday when the polls close. The record number of postal votes received is likely to delay an outcome because of the counting.

If Biden wins, then he won’t take office until January. That could give plenty of time for Trump to be Trump and potentially try and disrupt proceedings.

Popular Vote v Electoral College

The US election is not all cut and dry either. It’s not about winning the popular vote. Clinton won that four years ago.

This year, Biden is 1/7 odds-on to win the popular vote in US Presidential Election odds* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 04:15 GMT on Tuesday, 3rd November 2020).

The US election is about winning the votes in the right places in battleground states like Florida and Pennsylvania.

Trump is narrowly ahead in Florida at 4/6 as he appears to be pulling in more of a Latino vote this time around* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 04:15 GMT on Tuesday, 3rd November 2020).

Arizona is a toss-up at the moment as is the big battleground of Pennsylvania where both candidates have been campaigning hard this week.

But in both Pennsylvania and Arizona Presidential State Winner markets, the bookmakers are leaning towards the Democrats.

So while Biden seems to be leading the national polls, some big key swing states are going to decide the election.

Four years ago the polls were vastly wrong. Did they get it right this time around or is the country in for another four years of a Trump presidency?
