Wolves News and Form – Can Wolves beat Man Utd again?

Wolves are only one point behind Manchester United in the Premier League table as they step aside for FA Cup action. It has been a strong campaign from them at Molineux, losing just twice there in the top flight, which includes taking a point against Manchester United. Across all competitions at home this season, which includes the Europa League, Wolves have only lost three games. In their last home game, they secured a league win over Manchester City.

In only one home game across all competitions have Wolves failed to score. They have scored at least two goals in three of their last four home fixtures. In last season’s campaign, they opened things up in the third round with a 2-1 success over Liverpool and then took out the Red Devils when they hosted them in the sixth round. They fell short against Watford in the semi-finals but that is only one loss in their last six FA Cup games. Wolves will, once again, likely be a handful for United to deal with.

Wolves vs Manchester United Head to Head

Both teams have scored in eight of the last nine meetings
United are W4 D2 L3 in nine previous FA Cup meetings

Key-Facts – Wolves vs Manchester United

  • Wolves beat Liverpool and Man Utd at home last season’s FA Cup
  • The Red Devils have lost four of their last seven away games in all competitions
  • Man Utd have lost only 3 of their last 16 FA Cup away games

Manchester United News and Form – Can United win at Molineux?

The Red Devils turned out one of their lethargic, low-quality performances in a loss at Arsenal on the weekend in league action. They have been really prone to those kinds of performances this season out of the blue. The interesting thing about this tie is the away form of Manchester United or lack thereof. They have claimed just two wins in their last seven road fixtures in all competitions, losing four of those seven in the sequence. So there are some clear vulnerabilities which hinder them.

Last season’s FA Cup campaign came to an end away at Molineux, but overall their away form in the FA Cup is pretty solid. They have only suffered three losses (two of them to Chelsea) in their last sixteen away games in the competition. The last two wins that they managed to pick up on their travels in the FA Cup happened against Premier League opposition. The Red Devils have their ups and downs and it’s just never clear which United will show up on the day. Importantly, however, they are losing Paul Pogba who has to go for surgery on his ankle problem.

Wolves vs Manchester United Predictions

Wolves to win: Manchester United are just so hit and miss it’s hard to know what is coming from them. Wolves have a little unbeaten run of form going against them and should be value to outclass their opponents once again as they did last season. Home win.
