Blackburn Rovers Preview – Can Rovers build on good midweek win to remain in the hunt for the playoffs?
Had Blackburn last to Cardiff on Wednesday they would have been 11 points behind the Bluebirds who occupy the fourth and final playoff berth. As it is, their well-earned 3-2 win has Rovers five points adrift with four games left to play. It’s still an uphill task – not least because there are another three teams between themselves and sixth spot, but there is some reason to be optimistic.
After facing West Brom (which is as hard as games comes in this league) Rovers complete their season with games against teams who are all below them in the table. Indeed, Millwall will be their highest ranked opponent and they are currently in 11th.
That favourable run-in will count for little, however, should Blackburn not get something against the Baggies on Saturday. It’s probably the case they need to win all four of their remaining matches to have any chance of a top six finish.
Blackburn’s home form is pretty decent having lost only four of their 21 league games at Ewood Park. The main issue is the number of draws they have accumulated – sharing the points on eight occasions. Their most recent home game was a 3-1 loss against leaders Leeds last weekend.
West Brom Preview – Will the Baggies make it four straight wins and move a step closer to the Premier League?
A draw at home to Birmingham and defeat away to third placed Brentford following the resumption of the Championship meant things were beginning to get rather ominous for West Brom. Credit must got to Slaven Bilic’s men as they have since strung three straight wins together to maintain a comfortable enough cushion over the Bees. Wins against Sheffield Wednesday and Hull were probably to be expected whilst the 2-0 success at home to Derby last time out was impressive.
It leaves them with a five point lead and still only a point behind Leeds with the title remaining a distinct possibility.

Bilic will be delighted with the response his players have show and as is so often the case, a team who narrowly miss out in for promotion via the playoffs the previous season, can use that experience to stand them in good stead the following year.
There remains work to be done, though, and with the form that Brentford are in then anything less the victory here would have the Baggies looking nervously over their shoulders with three games left. West Brom will then have to negotiate home games against Fulham and QPR as well as a trip to face Huddersfield.
Blackburn Rovers vs West Brom Betting Advice
This has the prospect of being a really interesting match-up with both teams requiring the points. Blackburn’s need is most urgent as they really need to win all four games and hope for favours if they are to finish in the playoff positions. For West Brom, they have to continue their recent ruthless streak and not offer any more hope to the teams chasing automatic promotion.
The teams played out a really entertaining games earlier in the campaign as West Brom edged a five-goal thriller.
