Neil Critchley’s Blackpool booked their place in the 2021-22 Championship after winning promotion via the EFL League One play-offs last term. However, they had a tough start, failing to win any of their opening five (two draws, three defeats).
Blackpool returned from the international break in the best possible way, beating Championship favourites Fulham at Bloomfield Road, with Josh Bowler scoring the only goal of the game. The Seasiders were beaten at home in their next one, but Critchley’s troops bounced back with an excellent 2-1 win at Middlesbrough last time out.

Barnsley Preview – Will the Tykes secure first away win?
Taking over from the successful Valerien Ismael was always going to be an arduous task for Markus Schopp. The new boss has had a tough time at Oakwell so far, guiding Barnsley to just one win from their opening eight Championship matches.
Schopp’s men have not been easy to beat this season, though, with just Luton Town and Bournemouth getting the better of them in Championship action. The Tykes have drawn five times, which is the joint most in the division.

Barnsley will be looking for their second league win of the season on Saturday. However, after no victories in six, Schopp’s side are the second favourites at Bloomfield Road at 9/5.
