Bolton Wanderers grabbed a vital three points towards their survival plan in the Championship on Saturday when they recorded a much needed 2-1 home win over fellow relegation rivals Millwall at the Macron Stadium, and The Trotters hold home advantage once again on Tuesday night when they take on Sheffield Wednesday.
Bolton had previously registered something of a shock result recently when they won 1-0 away at Birmingham City, but three defeats on the trot afterwards to Norwich City, Leeds United and Swansea City meant that Phil Parkinson’s side remained in the bottom three.
The recent home win over Millwall though now gives the hosts fresh hope of staging a great escape, and this victory also ended a miserable five match run without a home win, which included losses against West Brom, Preston North End and Norwich City.
These defeats were against teams that are flying at the moment away from home though, and the visit of a more circumspect and modest Sheffield Wednesday outfit should give Bolton a decent chance of walking away with something here.

This nine-match unbeaten sequence is welcome news to Sheffield Wednesday fans after enduring a period of inconsistency under former manager Jos Luhukay, but whilst Steve Bruce has steadied the ship and tightened his side up at the back, Wednesday have managed just four wins from these last nine matches.
