Having taken just one point from their last two, the Cherries will be desperate for all three points from this one. However, with the Rams fighting for their Championship lives, this will be another tough test for Parker’s troops. We have the latest odds and best predictions in our in-depth betting preview.

Bournemouth Preview – Can the Cherries get back on track?

Bournemouth have slipped 14 points behind leaders Fulham after recent results. They were keeping up with the Cottagers’ relentless pace not so long ago, but the Cherries have taken just one point from a possible six.

They were on their way to a shock home defeat to bottom club Peterborough United in midweek, but Ryan Christie netted in the second half to rescue a point. The game before, Scott Parker’s men fell to a disappointing 2-1 loss at Preston North End.

Our betting prediction:
Derby to score first

The title looks to be heading Fulham’s way, but the battle for second could go to the wire. Bournemouth are in pole position, as they are level on points with Huddersfield with three games in hand. However, the Dorset club could do with the points on Saturday after no wins in two.

Derby County Preview – Will the Rams return to Pride Park with a positive result?

Despite plenty of off-field issues, Derby County have remained very competitive on the pitch. Wayne Rooney’s men are still in the bottom three, but only one team in the current bottom half have lost fewer games.

Derby have been inconsistent of late, but they did end a three-match losing streak with a vital victory last weekend. Ravel Morrison netted a double in a 2-0 win at Barnsley, putting County just five points behind 21st-place Reading in the fight for survival.

Overall, Derby have won 11, drawn 12 and lost 13, and they would be well clear of trouble if the points had not been deducted. A positive result at the Vitality on Saturday could stand them in good stead for the remainder of the season.

Bournemouth vs Derby County Betting Advice

Derby edged a five-goal thriller when the teams met at Pride Park back in November. Tom Lawrence was the hero for the Rams, scoring a brace in a 3-2 win.

Derby have a stunning recent record over Bournemouth, unbeaten in the last nine meetings (six wins, three draws). The Cherries’ last success in this fixture came way back in January 1985.

Key Facts – Bournemouth vs Derby County Betting Tip

  • Bournemouth have taken just one point from their past two
  • Derby ended a three-game losing streak with a win over Barnsley last weekend
  • There were five goals scored in the reverse game at Pride Park

Derby have certainly been Bournemouth’s bogey team in recent decades, and we can see the Midlands club causing more problems for the Premier League chasers this weekend. County will be buoyed from last weekend’s win, and we are backing Rooney’s men to hold Bournemouth to a draw on Saturday (14/5).

Ravel Morrison’s two goals helped the Rams to a crucial 2-0 win over the Tykes in their last outing. The former West Ham United man is available at 7/1 to score anytime in this one.
