Bristol City Preview – Can the Robins extend unbeaten home run?

Bristol City have had another tough campaign in the Championship. Nonetheless, despite languishing in the bottom half, the Robins are well clear of the bottom three. Overall, Nigel Pearson’s boys have claimed ten wins, drawn seven and lost 15.

Bristol City have been solid at home in recent months, winning six of their previous nine league fixtures at Ashton Gate. Last time out on home turf, City edged past struggling Reading with a 2-1 win. However, this will be a far greater test for Pearson’s side.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score
10/11

Bristol City are not completed out of the woods yet when it comes to relegation, but victory on Saturday after last weekend’s poor showing at Swansea City would certainly ease some of the pressure. The bookies have the home triumph priced at 11/4.

Middlesbrough Preview – Will Boro pick up another precious three points?

Middlesbrough’s fortunes have swung around since Chris Wilder took over at the Riverside Stadium, with the former Sheffield United manager turning the Blades into genuine promotion contenders. United have taken 49 points from 30 games.

Since Wilder’s arrival in North Yorkshire, Middlesbrough have suffered just two league defeats. They have picked up a hatful of wins, seeing off the likes of Huddersfield Town, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest. They also beat Manchester United at Old Trafford in the FA Cup. Last time out, Wilder’s team thumped Derby County 4-1 at the Riverside.

Middlesbrough will have eyes for second spot, and they certainly have the momentum to challenge for automatic promotion. Another three points this weekend will be huge in their quest to reach the promised land.

Bristol City vs Middlesbrough Betting Advice

Uche Ikpeazu and Matt Crooks were on target when Neil Warnock’s Middlesbrough beat Bristol City at the Riverside Stadium earlier in the season.

When they last locked horns at Ashton Gate, George Saville netted late on to give Boro a 1-0 victory back in October 2020.

Key Facts – Bristol City vs Middlesbrough Betting Tip

  • Bristol City have won three home league games in a row
  • Wilder has won ten of 15 league and cup matches at Boro
  • Middlesbrough have lost just one away game since early November

Bristol City have been woeful away from home in recent months, but their form at Ashton Gate has been decent. The Robins will have a go in front of their home supporters, but we can see in-form Middlesbrough leaving Bristol with all three points. We like the look of 15/4 for the away win and both teams to score.

Matt Crooks has taken his game to a new level since the new manager arrived, scoring four goals in his last six appearances. The 28-year-old, who was on target at Old Trafford earlier in the month, is priced at 3/1 to notch anytime against Bristol City again.
