Coventry City and Middlesbrough clash in EFL Championship action this Saturday at the Coventry Building Society Arena. The Sky Blues have enjoyed the return to their home after two wins from two in the league. However, Neil Warnock’s Boro will not be an easy nut to crack this weekend. Can Mark Robins’ boys secure another three points at home, or will Boro leave with a positive result? We have the best odds and tips.

Coventry City Preview – Will the Sky Blues claim a third home win?

Mark Robins’ Coventry City have made a steady start to their Championship season, winning three and losing two of their opening five. After coming from behind to beat Nottingham Forest at home in game one, City were narrowly beaten by Barnsley a week later.

Coventry sealed back-to-back wins over Blackpool and Reading to fire themselves into the early-season play-offs spots. They suffered a setback before the international break, though, losing 2-0 to in-form Queens Park Rangers at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

The Sky Blues have a 100% record in the league since returning home, beating both Nottingham Forest and Reading 2-1. After losing at QPR last time out, the Midlands outfit will be eager to get back to winning ways here. The home win is available at 23/20.

Middlesbrough Preview – Can Boro pick up first win in four?

Neil Warnock’s Middlesbrough could be one of the dark horses in the battle for promotion this term. Boro were in the mix for most of last season before slipping away at the end.

Middlesbrough have had a mixed bag of results at the start of this campaign. So far, the club from North Yorkshire have won one, lost one and drawn three. Since a 2-1 victory over Bristol City in game two, Middlesbrough have taken just two points from a possible nine.

They will be looking for their first win on the road since beating Rotherham United 2-1 at the New York Stadium back in April. At the time of writing, the Boro victory here is available at 12/5.

Coventry City vs Middlesbrough Betting Advice

Middlesbrough did the double over Coventry in the 2021-21 season. At the Riverside Stadium back in October, Britt Assombalonga and Djed Spence were on target in a 2-0 Boro victory. Middlesbrough then came from behind to beat the Sky Blues at St Andrew’s, with Grant Hall and George Saville getting the goals.

Key Facts – Coventry City vs Middlesbrough Betting Tip

  • Coventry have won just one of the previous five meetings
  • Middlesbrough did the double over City last season
  • The Sky Blues have won both home league matches this term

Coventry are certainly enjoying life back in their home, and Robins’ boys will be gunning for a third straight league win at the Coventry Building Society Arena. Middlesbrough will be formidable opponents, but we fancy the hosts to nick a narrow victory here. You can get 11/4 for City to win by one goal.

Viktor Gyokeres has found his home at Coventry, and the Sweden star has already scored two Championship goals this season. Gyokeres has netted in wins over Nottingham Forest and Blackpool, and the 23-year-old is nicely priced at 13/2 to score the opening goal in Saturday’s clash.
