Coventry City Preview – Can the Sky Blues build on last season?
Mark Robins’ Coventry City had a solid first season back in the Championship. They found it tough going at times but managed to secure a 16th-place finish. The Sky Blues won 14, drew 13 and lost 19 of their 46 games.
Coventry ended their campaign in strong style to avoid a relegation scrap. From April, City beat the likes of Bristol City, Rotherham United, Barnsley, Stoke City and Millwall. They won four of their last six, thumping the Lions 6-1 at St Andrew’s on the final day.
Championship survival will be the main aim, but there is no reason why the Sky Blues cannot finish in mid-table this season. They are an honest bunch of players with an excellent manager. Can City start with a win on the opening weekend?
Nottingham Forest Preview – Reds to return home with a positive result?
Chris Hughton’s saved Nottingham Forest’s season last time around. The Reds opened up with five straight league and cup losses under Sabri Lamouchi and looked like relegation fodder. Hughton regalvanised the club and took them to 17th.

Nottingham Forest beat Coventry home and away last season. In November, Scott McKenna and Lyle Taylor scored in a 2-1 win at the City Ground. Forest then won 2-1 at St Andrew’s a few months later, with an own goal and a Lewis Grabban strike doing the business in that one.
