Despite being handed a 3-1 defeat away from home at Borussia M’gladbach on the opening day of the new German top flight season, Sunday’s hosts, Hoffenheim, have since clicked into gear by winning four out of their subsequent five matches in the Bundesliga which has helped the hosts up into an early 4th place position on the ladder.

Hoffenheim have also captured three wins on the trot on home soil as well which will give them a timely boost ahead of this encounter against fellow high-fliers, Freiburg, and although the hosts did suffer a mini speed-bump in the road with three defeats within their preceding five games, the bigger picture looks a fairly reliable one for Hoffenheim.
Sunday’s hosts have lost just four of their last 18 home games in the Bundesliga and have also picked up a total of 11 victories within this period too, so they will fancy their chances of getting a result of some sort on Sunday evening, although Hoffenheim have managed to win just one of the previous seven meetings against their visitors.
Forward, Ihlas Bebou, defender enjamin Hubner and keeper Phillip Pentke, are all sidelined with injuries but none of them have figured for the hosts so far this season anyway, so Hoffenheim manager, Andre Breitenreiter, will have a fully fit squad to choose from.

An improved run of results on the road have also seen Freiburg produce some impressive displays as they have lost just once in their last nine outings on their travels and collected six wins as well, so they too look a decent prospect for Sunday’s clash, where they’ve also held the upper hand over Hoffenheim in previous exchanges.
Freiburg are likely to be without defender Kimberly Ezekwem, midfielder Roland Sallai and forward Lucas Holer for this trip to the PreZero Arena, due to being suspended and suffering leg injuries respectively.
