Danny Cowley’s Huddersfield Town and Alex Neil’s Preston North End meet at the John Smith’s Stadium in the EFL Championship on Saturday afternoon. After an impressive win in Birmingham in midweek, can the Terriers make it back-to-back victories this weekend? We take a look at the latest and best betting odds.

Huddersfield Town Preview – Can the Terriers make it two wins on the spin?
After successive defeats to Leeds United, Wigan Athletic and Nottingham Forest, Huddersfield Town picked up a huge win at St Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium in midweek. Danny Cowley’s men were excellent in Birmingham, with Karlan Grant, Fraizer Campbell and Elias Kachunga getting the goals in the important 3-0 victory.
Huddersfield have won two of their last three at the John Smith’s Stadium, beating Bristol City 2-1 and Charlton Athletic 4-0. However, in their last home encounter, Wigan Athletic left with all three points.
Although Wednesday’s win at St Andrew’s was a huge boost to their survival hopes, Huddersfield are not out of the woods just yet. Cowley’s boys will be desperate to follow up the midweek victory with three points on home soil at the weekend.
Preston North End Preview – Will the Lilywhites pick up a much-needed three points?
Preston North End’s play-off hopes have been dealt a huge blow after back-to-back defeats to top-six rivals Cardiff City and Derby County. In fact, since returning to action, Preston have taken just one point from a possible nine. Alex Neil’s boys have slipped down to ninth, four points behind sixth-place Cardiff.
Since winning five of seven, Preston are without a win in six, with North End taking just one point from the last 18 on offer. With only six games left to play, Neil’s side have hit a bad patch of form at just the wrong time. Can they get back on track with a big three points on the road at the weekend?

For a team challenging for one of four play-off spots, their form away from home has been pretty dire this season. So far, North End have won just five times on their travels in the Championship, drawing six and losing eight of the other 14. The Lancashire club could certainly do with maximum points from this one.
Huddersfield Town vs Preston North End Betting Advice
Huddersfield have won three of their last five at home. However, they have lost to Stoke City, Cardiff and Wigan at the John Smith’s Stadium in 2020 alone. Wednesday’s win was an excellent one, but can they build on that this weekend?
Key Facts – Huddersfield Town vs Preston North End Betting Tip
- Only Hull City, Birmingham City and Reading have picked up fewer home points than Huddersfield
- Preston have taken just one point from their last six matches
- There have been 20 goals scored in the previous five Huddersfield v Preston fixtures
At Deepdale back in November, Preston beat Huddersfield 3-1, with Jayden Stockley, Alan Browne and Paul Gallagher getting the goals. I fancy there to be a similar kind out of outcome from Saturday’s fixture at the John Smith’s.
Unibet are offering the superb price of 5/1 for Preston to win and both teams to score. I also like the look of 6/5 for the away team to open the scoring in this one.
