Huddersfield Town Preview – Terriers’ winless run to go on?
Huddersfield Town are hovering just above the relegation zone with 16 matches left to play, only five points above 22nd-place Sheffield Wednesday. So far, the Terriers have won nine of 30 games, drawing six and losing 15 of the other 21. Only bottom club Wycombe Wanderers have suffered more defeats.
Since a 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers at the John Smith’s Stadium on 29th December, Carlos Corberan’s Huddersfield have gone on to lose six and draw two of their following eight in the Championship. In midweek, despite taking the lead, Town were beaten 2-1 by Neil Warnock’s Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.
Huddersfield won five in a row from late November to late December, but Corberan’s boys have drawn one and lost four of their last five league and cup home matches. They look likely to lose again this weekend.
Swansea City Preview – Another comfortable away victory for the Swans?
Steve Cooper’s Swansea City are riding high in the Championship table. Ahead of this round of fixtures, the Swans are sitting pretty in third place on 56 points, a point behind Brentford and five behind leaders Norwich City, with two games in hand on both.
The South Wales club have been in superb form lately, winning seven and drawing two of their last nine Championship games. After a 1-1 home draw with promotion rivals Brentford last month, Swansea have won each of their last three in the Championship, scoring six and conceding one.
