Leeds United Prediction – Can Leeds remain unbeaten?

Following the bitter disappointment of losing in the play-offs at the end of last season in the Championship, it was going to be interesting to see how Leeds United would respond to the start of this fresh campaign in the second tier.

Normal service seems to have resumed though up in Yorkshire as Leeds still remain unbeaten after their first four matches of this new season in all competitions, which includes 2 wins and 1 draw to start their campaign in the Championship in positive fashion.

An impressive opening day 3-1 win away at Bristol City was followed by a slightly disappointing 1-1 draw at home with Nottingham Forest, but Wednesday night’s hosts soon bounced back to register back-to-back wins in different competitions.

Leeds registered a 3-0 win away at League Two upstarts, Salford City, in the League Cup and this result was swiftly followed by a 2-0 win away at Wigan Athletic, although Leeds’s cause was helped by a reckless Williams being sent off for Wigan midway through the first half.

Leeds are also unbeaten in their last 3 meetings at Elland Road against Brentford, with their last meeting ending in a 1-1 draw (the previous two matches ended 1-0 in Leeds’s favour), with Brentford’s goalscorer being Neil Maupay who has since moved to Brighton.

Brentford Prediction – Can Brentford upset Leeds?

The same solid start to this new season can’t be said of Brentford who have managed just 1 win out of their first 4 matches in all competitions, which was a 1-0 win away at Middlesbrough which in league terms, was a bit of a collector’s item.

That said, of their previous 3 away wins from their last 26 matches on the road in the Championship, Brentford did record a 2-1 win away at Boro last season back in March, so perhaps we shouldn’t be too surprised by The Bees winning that fixture.

Brentford’s season got off to a disappointing and ultimately frustrating start though as they lost 1-0 at home to Birmingham City on the opening day of the season at Griffin Park, despite bombarding Birmingham’s goal for the majority of the encounter.

This could perhaps be a sign of things to come for Brentford who lost star striker Neil Maupay to Brighton, and who had plundered a total of 37 goals in his previous two seasons at the London club.

Losing to Cambridge United on penalties in the League Cup followed by Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Hull city, both at Griffin Park, may just signal the start of some cracks starting to appear for The Bees.

Betting Tips Verdict

Leeds United have made a good start to this season while Brentford still seem to be coming to terms without Maupay.
